Title: personalized plate?
Post by: ducrider45 on June 01, 2009, 07:24:04 PM
I want the new "small" plate that MD now offers. The best way to get a new tag is to order a personalized plate. This is the bike that the plate will go on. (http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/vv108/ducrider45/000_1534.jpg?t=1243912383) Vote for your top three. Thanks.

Keep in mind that a personalized plate is easier to read and remember by the popo.

I agree with Norm.  Unless you really want a vanity plate come up with the hardest combo to remember that you can think of.  Any combination of S and 5 is great if you can get it.

Yeah ... I got the plate "SMITH" because it was my dad's plate for 30+ years and he doesn't have a bike at the moment (this way we wouldn't lose it.)

Putting it on the Monster was probably not one of my better ideas  [evil] [laugh]

Can't say that I wasn't a little embarrassed when I got pulled over a few years ago, my personal plate sort of hung me out to dry....but I still love it.

some states have restrictions on 1, 0, I and O for this very reason.

My initials would work well for a stealth plate (MWM). Maybe NMWMN would be a good plate.

MD has restrictions on the hard to read combos. Cops are not an issue either. Due to my job I can’t make a run for it anymore. If I were to get arrested I would not have a job.

Only get a plate that's hard to remember if you plan to run from the police.

If you're basically law abiding, consider one that might influence the police officer to let you off with a warning.  I'm pretty sure that my GRAMMPA plate has helped me get a few warnings when stopped.  I haven't gotten any tickets since I got that plate - except for one while driving my wife's car in what I consider to be a zero-tolerance sting operation.

If you can't come up with something that you feel is the obvious one to get, don't bother getting one.

The plate for my Honda was the obvious choice.
