Ouch!
Rubbernecking on a motorcycle is never a good idear.
Ouch, hope they are OK. Wonder if it was a dmf'r
mitt
That is not going to buff out...
hope everyone is OK.
crap :-\
Sorry, no sympathy from me. Rubber neckers are one of my biggest annoyances when on the road. Maybe even higher on my shit list than inattentive soccer mom's in vans/SUVs.
The area around an accident is where you need to be most aware because of the rubber neckers. You should be watching for those idiots to needlessly slow down or drift around as they gawk instead of gawking yourself.

+1 [thumbsup]
Hard to tell from that video but I couldn't see if the ambulance had it's emergency lights on. Either way they are looking at a lawsuit.

News reports say the lights were on. Witnesses say the rider was doing something with his IPOD just prior to the crash.
On the bright side... if he was going to crash, he couldn't have picked something better to crash into... except maybe a hearse [laugh]
his full face helmet saved his life [thumbsup]
they show where his head hit the door of the ambulance
Did you see the video under it?

WOW!
Damn that sucks. Those ambliances are kinda hard. Don't think it was a Ducati though judging by the video.
Finally watched the video. Been having internet problems. At the very end they mention that he had earphones in which is illegal. I don't see how that would be relevant in this case. While it is illegal, a stopped ambulance doesn't have its siren going.
Earphones may not be illegal in all states.
I think it's stupid though that car manufacturers qualify their quality by how quiet the cabin is and most people listen to something on the radio while driving. Depending on how loud it is, it could be the same or worse than someone listening to music through earbuds at a reasonable volume...

In one sense at least.

I beep at rubberneckers in front of me. It annoys me to no end having sat through a bunch of traffic only to find that the accident was on the other side of the road. So beep; and beep often. ;D

It's supposed to be a distraction, as in you're thinking about the music instead of concentrating on riding (and they said he was even fiddling with his ipod?). They also didn't mention what he was listening toâ€"some music (or speech) is barely there and some helps people relax and focus.
