Title: Friends Of Bill Bowen
Post by: twolanefun on June 07, 2009, 04:24:44 PM
In my travels today I went by the scene and the signs are up, we have a two mile section on Rt. 611 from Millville Rd to Foxcroft Rd. I will try and schedule the first cleanup next weekend, if you want to participate send me an email NOT A PM, to 2vtwin@comcast.net There are other groups not on this board involved and it will be easier to manage from my email account rather then PMs on this board. I need a response by Wednesady AM. Thanks - Gene

Okay a few more details. The reason this fell through the cracks is that the person I dealt with was let go due to personnel cutbacks by the state. The roadside did not look that bad but figure we should get this done anyway. The state provides the bags, vests, and signs to indicate there is a cleanup crew - an important safety need as that shoulder is not very wide and the road is narrow. Nora will pick this material up tomorrow in Leesburg. You can ride your bike to the site, in fact my orginal thought was Sunday, meet at Livestock exchange for breakfast, drool over the fine machinery that shows up every Sunday, then ride up the back roads to park at Intersection of Snakehill Rd, right next to the site where Bill ended up. But if Saturday is better please let me know, I was hoping to drop off the S2R at DucPond and maybe pickup the ST3 on Saturday but I could do the cleanup on my way out or on my way back from DucPond. Right now I believe I have committments from John Bowman, Frank Bourgin, and Walt Martens. I realize this is short notice, not my usual style, but next time it will be planned better. Thanks - Gene
