I can't believe these are the dumbasses we have to deal with every day on the street.

How can you not see a make the beast with two backsing train?

The fault belongs to the designers, as trains and cars do not mix well and should never have to share the same space. You have two options, either go underground with a subway, or go above ground with elevated tracks.
Trains work really well when kept away from moronic drivers, if you have doubts then visit Japan or Europe.

do they still run buses the opposite way in the fast lane of Houston freeways at times? That was some of the craziest sh!t I ever saw...
