Title: ROT Plans?
Post by: yotogi on June 10, 2009, 12:00:31 PM
Does anyone have plans this weekend? I wasn't thinking I wanted to go out to the rally proper, but Friday night downtown? Meet up at Ming's and ride in as a group? Avoid it like the plague and hide in our homes until the weekend is over?

Thoughts?

I've been every year but one.  About the 3rd or 4th one I forgot to
pre-register and was going to at the gate but it started raining on
Thursday and didn't stop the whole weekend so we blew it off.  Anyway,
because of commitments my wife and I will be doing it Thur and Fri
instead of Fri and Sat this year.  I took the S4R out there last year
for a short visit and have only ever seen one other Duc.  I wasn't
paying attention before I bought my '05 though.  Fri night is a zoo
and should be even worse this year with the Knievel jump thingy
going to happen.  We are even thinking about doing the cruise in
from the grounds which we've never done.  We used to when they
formed up off 15th north of the Capitol.

The S4R stays home for our trips together and this gets the call.
'79 FX (lower rider) I've owned since '85.  Still only has change
under 22K on the clock.  Had drag pipes on it the first 20 years
then Bud's put what you see on.  Truthfully I set off more car
alarms with the S4R now than with the shovel.  I even put classic
plates on it this year.

Warning, it is utter chaos downtown Fri's but can be great fun.

Have a good'un.......Micky

Yoto, absent due to ramping up work obligations..... :'(

All of a sudden, we're busy-like 12 hour a day busy- and it's really pushing into any personal life I had......

ROT Rally has generated three fatalities so far on the roads.  I hope that I don't read about more in the am.  Be safe out there if you must ride.

Sorry to have missed ya! Although I will say, that a sudden increase in business is interesting. Next time we chat I am sure that I will have a ton of questions.

Hey Yo..sorry..I didn't see this post until after what I knew the Rot Rally was.   [roll]

FactorPlayer and I went out for a bit yesterday after I had my bike fixed at the Duc shop yesterday morning.

We just rode around town a bit.  It was pretty hot.  Saw a bikini bike wash but not much to speak of.  :-X

No worries. I was up to my ears in chores this weekend. Barely got the bike out of the garage.

We need to get in a ride before you leave though.
