Title: As the counter rolLs past 1100Miles...The front end lifts off the ground... Post by: Desmostro on May 19, 2008, 01:34:25 PM 1100 miles and I'm calling this 848 officially broken in. Close enough.
At a brief but necessary lunch time hooky ride I found second gear and I let the tac roll past 7,500RPM for the first time. The front wheel lifted effortlessly into the air as the throttle bodies finally let loose a little. The sound completely changed into the familiar family roar. Oh happy day so far. ;D Title: Re: As the counter rolLs past 1100Miles...The front end lifts off the ground... I've been hearing about oil leaks and stalls. I have about 320 miles on mine right now and wouldn't trade it for anything, so I'm hoping I can avoid some of these maintenance problems.

I heard a few have had gas tank leaks - which came from a faulty "O" ring of all things. (remember the ex-space shuttle). I replaced my gas tank entirely because of something else. Other than that no. It's been a love. Anything in new production is bound to reveal some flaws in manufacturing. Ducati has been very responsive about it. They came and picked it up for free, got me a new tank lickety-split. I never missed a Saturday. [thumbsup] Title: Re: As the counter rolLs past 1100Miles...The front end lifts off the ground... Post by: sugarcrook on May 20, 2008, 01:18:19 PM Good to hear. The main compliant I hear about at ducatispot.com is stalling.
Shift-Tech has some mirrors extenders and I'm hoping they'll help fix the uselessness. Title: Re: As the counter rolLs past 1100Miles...The front end lifts off the ground... Then they work very well. ;) For other occasions I've been getting better at the old turn-head-and-look-behind. :-X (PS I hope no-one minds this 848 banter on the MOB site. doh! ) get used to it! There's just a couple of things left on your checklist: Sweet. Stoppie lesson time. I can't say I've done that, nor can I say I'm all about the stunt riding. But that would be pretty cool mastering the limits of my ride.
