Anyone have a source for me?
I need to pick up a spanner wrench for my rear shock on my S2R800.
I wanna goof around with preload a bit...
Check with the board Sponsors, a lot of those guys carry tools, If they don't have them, I know Monsterparts.com carries them.
Also try Bevel Heaven if you can't get it from a sponser.
This doesn't answer your question, but as an alternative to buying a specific tool, I've always used a hammer and punch (or screwdriver). Unless your S2r has one of those newfangled plastic collars.

I went with this method when I first got my bike. Be very patient and careful. It will bugger up any fancy finishes regardless but you can try to reduce this by putting a folded up rag under your screw driver. Also get the biggest flat head you can find.
Yeah, no matter how you do it, your shock collar gets a wee bit chewed up. I've always assumed that any bike I have will have a dinged up shock collar. It goes with the territory. Then again, you shouldn't be setting preload more than a few times unless you make a habit of adjusting it for passengers (more work than it is worth IMO).
I just went in to my local tool supplier and bought an adjustable c spanner, they fit multiple sizes so you need to get a rough measurement of the diameter of the ring and go from there.
They look something like this.

Very Cheap. Good service. You need 2.
If you grind the inside tang off 1 of the wrenches it still works okay as a backup wrench for the shock but also works for chain-cam adjustment. Wrenches are about $9 each.
And even with a wrench the plastic collars get beaten up.
Last time I looked, motowheels has some in stock...but they aren't hard to find.
two is much easier than one.
