Title: Things I learned to be a true Monster lover
Post by: PragB on June 11, 2009, 01:16:51 PM
1. I can't have any fashion sense unless the clothes says Ducati.
2. I have to act like a douchebag but call others douchebags.
3. I can personalize my bike, but it has to look like everyone else's or I'll be ostrisized.
4. If more than 1 person hates something, I have to also hate it, even if I like it.
5. If I have a difference of opinion with a longtime member him and all his dick riders will bash me.
6. I have no freedom of choice, opinion or speech unless I agree with the masses.
7. I have to hate everything popular and bash anyone who likes those things.
8. I will be hated by most other riders for being an arrogant jerk, but I am justified in being so because I ride a Ducati.
9. Anyone who dislikes how I act is only hating me because they're jealous.
10. I must act like the motorcycling equivalent of a "Scene Girl".
11. I have ultimate say in everything Ducati does and even though I could barely afford my 620, I can bash on the expensive Ducati motorcycles I will never afford and act like Ducati is losing money from me.
12. I must act like I am a God.
13. No other brands on the planet have "soul"
14. If Ducati puts their name on something other than motorcycles or motorcycle gear I must bash Ducati for selling out.
15. If a post has more than 1 page of someone hating on someone I have to do my best to make it get to at least 15 pages of hate with my witty barbs bashing the OP.
16. My list of awful things to do to others is pretty much endless, but I am justified in my awful behaviour, because I do no wrong because I am a Ducatista.
17. If someone says something I don't like on the Monster forum I bash them until the mods ban them and if I am a mod I bash them even more than regular members...

This is what I have learned what it takes to be a true Monster lover in the 5 years of being a watcher of the Ducati Monster forums...

Forgot #18

I must generalize, and even though there are only a few members who fit the list i'm making, i'm going to blow it way out of proportion. Because i can be just as big a douche as anyone else on the board.

Speaking of which, where's "the ron"?  when he wasn't bashing my bike he was actually making some pretty interesting posts.

wow,  did someone take this guys lithium away or something.  I mean, weather people on this forum resemble those remarks or not it takes a special person to just go ahead and post that out of the blue as a new topic.

Did your dad get ran over by a ducati monster or something?

I personally don't have any fashion sense even if the clothes DO say Ducati.

You forgot:
1.) Giving someone a hand-built bike made from parts gathered from a community of strangers shortly after he wrecked his bike.
2.) Donating funds to someone who recently lost their bike and home in a fire.
3.) Having a complete community and internet forum with a vast wealth of technical knowledge maintained entirely by volunteers.
4). Wearing proper riding gear.
5.) Having the balls to take a hacksaw to your bikes frame.
6.) Having the personal security to join into a group of people that you know all of the "real riders" out there like to bash for investing in a machine that the truly love.
6.) NOT putting NOS Energy Drink in our fuel tanks.

Please feel free to spend another 5 years observing from the outside so you can make hypocritical judgements when your done.

And your triumph blows.

That was an epic thread.  If I ever use a beverage as a carb cleaner, though, I'll use Monster Lo-Carb.

who pissed in your beer dude?

i guess a community like this (which has also been known to band together to help seriously injured riders, or to assist the families of deceased riders) is not your style. or a community which is watched by the manufacturers/dealers/aftermarket crowd, for cues on what people want and need...

or one which gathers members together from all over the country in places like.........well, all over the country. just not your style...

later [thumbsup]

Ok so I dont get it. Are you being sarcastic? Do you really love monsters and you think that has turned you into this person. Or are you saying that ducatisti are somewhat similar to the sterotypical Harley riders? Personally I believe that it would be hard to find many people on this forum with some of those charateristics, let alone any. That being said, yeah I like my bike.

If this is how you really feel about this community then go (http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll161/porschaholic/smileys/sad-smiley-046.gif) somewhere else about it.

I think, from time to time some of us, me included, are a little guilty as charged. Even if so, this forum is soooo much more valuable than what the OP suggests.

He was permanently banned a while ago - the interesting posts didn't quite equal out his need for "free speech".

we've all been a little guilty of some of the ducati vs other brands snobbery. but many have or had other bikes as well. i know for my personal being. i have ONE piece of ducati riding gear, a rain gear overjacket, that was given to me. i find the safest cheapest gear i can so i can spend more money on parts :D

oh and if we crash the 675 and break our instrument panel it doesn't total out the bike.  [coffee]

I learned a long time ago not to bother hanging out somewhere I didn't like.   Takes some people longer I guess.

If everyone here is such a jerk, why do you stay?   Needing a bit of attention are ya?   People who realy ride and don't care what other people think don't post long rants so everyone else knows what they think.    ;D

lots of forum members have several different brands of bikes too.   Don't see why we should be limited to liking one type.   Happy to discuss the pros and cons (to me) of the various bikes I've owned.   Huge difference between poking fun of friends in good fun about what they ride versus actually spewing bullshit generalities.

This is what I have learned what it takes to be a true Monster lover in the 5 years of being a watcher of the Ducati Monster forums...

People who hang out and watch 'the scene' without taking part remind me of the the Eunuchs that guarded the sultan's harem in days of old:

They know how it's done. But they don't understand why it's done, and they certainly can't do it themselves.

Figured as much, but never saw it stated... i was actually hoping it would only be a year long ban (the month long didn't make a dent) and that by now he may have cooled his jets on his hate of the 696 et. al.

Yes, i understand that. I'm not dense...  not entirely sure you can say the same.

I hope people have enough class to not sign up on that forum just to start shit.

Good natured banter is cool.   The hate spewing crap that so often happens is not.

If it happens here we're just going to remove the threads, because that's just not cool.

my bike is better than your bike is a waste of time.
