Title: AGV GP Tech Helmet

I tried one on at the D-Store yesterday and new I had to have one. It's the lightest helmet I've ever owned...very comfortable, the anti-microbial/Coolmax liner is wonderful, and the faceshield is thick and feels pretty strong. Tons of vents on this thing, and it actually does a good job of holding out the noise...surprising, given how light it is.

Looking forward to putting it through its paces, but so far so good for city riding. I need to get some clear plastic film to protect the back of it before I get it on to the twisties...the tail-chopped Monster kicks up a lot of stones ;D

UPDATE

One ride under my belt, and the GP Tech worked like a charm. It's quiet, doesn't fog, and is light as a feather (< 2lb).

And did I mention that it comes with tear-offs?

$499 ! Seems to me the last time I saw one of those it was $999. That's a decent price if it's comparable to a Shoei X-11 or an Arai Corsair V.      Dolph    :)

DQ, what helmet did you have before the AGV?
I'd like to try one on, but don't have a local dealer. I wear an Arai Q2 right now.

I came from an Arai Q2. The AGV seems lighter and better-built. My Arai had a lot of complicated and flimsy parts that broke frequently and easily. But they supported the helmet well, and whenever something broke they'd send me a new part. The AGV just feels more solid. And the interior of the GP Tech is a spare-no-expense item.

Where are you at? I can have BikerGoddess check for local retailers.

I'm near New Orleans, but I go into Houston and Austin fairly regularly. Thanks for the feedback.
