Called, got message saying won't be available for a while.
Website now dead.

I'll see what I can find out. I know there were some location/zoning issues that needed sorting out. Website... meh that could jsut be any number of things. The message that came up make me wonder if it's not just a DNS issue - so don't make any time foil hats.
nah, it was the phone message that got me. just "we will be out of business for a while" or somesuch... maybe they said family issues, i dunno.

I just went with a friend to colemans on sat. I believe the charge was 30 off the bike vs 50 as I have seen on a regular at most shops. dc

no answer at his # now. ???
Let me do some pinging. His racers might have an answer.
If you don't mind the ride, check out RAM Cycles in Gaithersburg, MD. I have used them twice, once with tires I bought on-line and once with tires I bought through them. I forget the rate, but I checked around both times and they were the best deal by a fair amount. They're definitely worth a call.

+1 for RAM. They are good guys.
unfortunately too far for it to be reasonable -- 40 miles for me one way
Here's what I got in response to my "is von dari out of business?" query.
"Yea, all is well with VonDari, but his business, which he ran out of a friend's garage, grew pretty quickly and therefore attracted the county inspectors, and they shut him down! He was really disappointed because business had really started taking off.
Anyways, he is now looking for funding and new premises. It's tough to find investors right now, but I'm hoping he will be back up and running again soon. Meanwhile, he will at least be coming to the races with us!"
That sucks.
Well, there are plenty of properties around Fairfax county if he's interested.

That really sucks. He was a cool dude and the shop was just as cool. Blessing for a better spot and good business.
Dang now I gotta find somebody else to set my suspension on the 847. dc
