Title: 696 Rear Axle Nut Torque...?
Post by: Bergweiserus on June 16, 2009, 01:32:09 PM
Hello All,

can someone give me the rear axle nut torque spec on the 696?  i've only worked on older monsters and not sure if it's the same.

(this afternoon i'm changing a 696's 15 tooth front to a 14 tooth)

thanks a ton!
:)

I just checked the service manual.. The rear axle nut has to be torqued to 83 Nm +/- 5% tolerance since it's classified as a "dynamic safety-critical point".

Edit to add Front Sprocket retaining screw is 6 Nm.
