Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: ptooey on June 17, 2009, 06:31:29 AM Good to see more screen-time for Ducati, but here's my comment I added on that page:
Quote One of the conditions Ducati should impose on these film makers for inclusion in their films is that the genuine Ducati noise be used, not substituted with cheap-and-nasty Japanese bike noises for the sake of viewer-familiarity. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: ducatiz on June 17, 2009, 06:33:29 AM Interesting, I thought the sound was the only thing left from the Ducati...

You must be talking about Terminator 4.. Haven't seen it yet, but I guess I shoulda mentioned that Yes Man sounded like a Japcati, and also Dollhouse (TV show) with 848, also Japcati.. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: ducatiz on June 17, 2009, 06:51:41 AM You must be talking about Terminator 4.. Haven't seen it yet, but I guess I shoulda mentioned that Yes Man sounded like a Japcati, and also Dollhouse (TV show) with 848, also Japcati.. yep, i just saw it the other night. the bikes sounded like they had termis or similar.. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: Super T.I.B on June 17, 2009, 01:32:39 PM Haven't seen it yet, but I guess I shoulda mentioned that Yes Man sounded like a Japcati, In some parts it did sound japanese, and others it was distinctly Duc. <quack quack> Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: sydmonster on June 17, 2009, 07:08:16 PM hmm.. I watched the latest terminator on Sunday (14/6) and never once thought it sounded like a twin, but maybe I don't remember right. I would have made reference to it though, coz I thought the bikes were wicked. - Chris

Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: techno on June 19, 2009, 03:46:38 AM I saw terminator salvation and thought it was sorta v-twin but electronically modified in some way, like slowed down or recorded through a 20ft pipe or something.
They never leave perfect alone! Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: herm on June 19, 2009, 05:06:13 AM who wants to bet we see a "terminator" series street fighter.........?
Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: CairnsDuc on June 19, 2009, 03:49:27 PM who wants to bet we see a "terminator" series street fighter.........? As long as they have the big ass Machine guns hanging out the side like in the movie, My deposit cheque is being signed now!! ;D Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: ducatiz on June 19, 2009, 03:56:46 PM As long as they have the big ass Machine guns hanging out the side like in the movie, My deposit cheque is being signed now!! ;D assuming it's 5.56 (.223) that's about half a pound for every 20 rounds, not including the belt. so to have any useful amount of ammo, you're gonna need at least an extra 10-15 lbs, plus the containers to store it. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: Spider on June 19, 2009, 11:36:52 PM i can see the headline now....
4 wheel drives shot up in Camberwell by 'mad' motorcyclist, hundreds effected. and I'm loving it [thumbsup] Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: CairnsDuc on June 19, 2009, 11:38:38 PM assuming it's 5.56 (.223) that's about half a pound for every 20 rounds, not including the belt. so to have any useful amount of ammo, you're gonna need at least an extra 10-15 lbs, plus the containers to store it. Who give's a rats ass! ;D If I'm going slow because of the excess ammunition, at least no prick will be game enough to get close and pregnant dog. "Really?" "You think I'm going to slow?!?" "Well, Say hello to my little friend!!!" Shredded!! [cheeky] Termi's be make the beast with two backsed! A Gatling Gun will be the must have Item in the 2010 Ducati Performance Catalogue [thumbsup] Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: Big T on June 20, 2009, 12:04:06 AM Hey CairnsDuc more your style maybe (A Segcati).... Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: CairnsDuc on June 20, 2009, 01:32:15 PM Who knows?
But I figure even if you shoot off a second or 2 of rounds in there general direction (even if you don't hit them) I figure they will have received more than adequate notice of my general objection to them drawing any further oxygen from the atmosphere, and I will be more than willing to assist them from this plane of consciousness. ;D Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: Betty on June 21, 2009, 12:28:47 PM Forced myself to watch Yes Man on the plane home and had to get right to the end to see the HM. From a Ducatisti point of view it would have been nice if a dry clutch rattle was the noise stopping Jim Carrey from hearing the warnings of the power (or they may have actually said torque) of the high performance Ducati. Unfortunately the ordinary punter would have been complaining about the sound quality ... "there is one point where there is an unusual rattling sound, kinda like a bucket of bolts ...I think my DVD is faulty".
On another note, another movie on the plane which I can't quite remember the title of ... but it had Streetfighter in it so it was hard to resist - the fact it was a Kung Fu movie just added to the attraction :D. Anyway the vampish eurasion copper rides an 'old-style' monster with a corse chequered flag tank and it looks like high mount Leo Vince pipe [evil]. The sound quality was not good enough to be certain but I don't remember a distinct Ducati note. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: ptooey on June 23, 2009, 04:28:48 AM saw terminator 4 tonight. still heard more inline four than desmodromic. if any v-twin at all.
so once again defies belief that ducati takes credit and pride their bikes are in the films. Title: Re: Ducati Article on Terminator Salvation & Transformers Post by: CairnsDuc on June 23, 2009, 02:24:50 PM Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that Ducati was saying their bikes were in the film, the way I took it was that the Bikes in the Film were modeled off the characteristics of the HyperMotard used by the Stunt riders, they were the reference used by the Animators when modeling the moves for the Moto-terminators. you can see it in the promo vid that they are using Hypers for the Reference passes.
That's the way I took it. PS: Saw the movie the other night! Loved it! can't wait for it to come out on Bluray! [thumbsup] |
