Got a mail from new enough with great pricing on the Scorpion EXO-700. Anyone have any FHE with these helmets, especially regarding fit? I've got a Shoei RF-1000 and it fits like a glove - so I'd be looking for an internal helpmet shape like the rf 1000
In my experience the RF1000 will run a slight bit tighter than the EXO700 on initial purchase but after break in they're pretty much the same. The EXO breath guard doesn't direct my breath straight into my glasses like the Shoei ones do but they're at MUCH louder. Ear pockets might be slightly deeper on the EXO but they're also a bit heavier. Also, don't leave it on your bike in the sun since all the little vents are just glued onto the shell unlike the Shoei ones that are molded into the shell.

I have both the EXO700 and an RF1000, and my experience is the opposite. My EXO700 is tighter than my RF1000. Not uncomfortably so, but tighter.

Really? I guess you'd know better. My experience is only trying the RF1000 on in the store. I know that a X-11 is looser than an EXO700, though so I wouldn't be surprised. But I also remember a RF1000 being tighter than then X-11.
Either way, sounds like a similar fit.. and a decent back up helmet for $100

Whoops, I just noticed discrepencies in my post earlier. Haha. When I mentioned them fitting the same after break in I was referring to my X-11 and EXO 700. Stupid me. Too early in the morning when I made that post. :P
i have an RF1000 and the EXO700 as well, EXO700 is much tighter even after breaking in.

Hey, I wasn't saying that you are wrong, just that my head is different enough to get the opposite result. :)

Yeah, I'd say you can't go wrong. My only real complaint is the weight.
are you thinking about buying hte burst?
i love that design, but i havent seen a non manufacturer pic of it yet. i want the black/white one. though the red/white one looks really cool too, but its too japanese suicide biker for my taste, i feel like i have to ram into a navy ship or something. probably wouldn't help that i pass by the USS intrepid every day either!

I havent ridden an EXO helmet, but i have tried them all on in the store (local shop, only decent helmet they carry)
I ride a small nexx, which fits looser than a small exo, and i ride a medium suomy which used to fit tighter than an exo Medium , but has since broken in nicely and id say its about the same as an unbroken in exo medium. i cant say how well the scorpion lids break in since i havent ridden one

I think bobspapa has the red/white burst. Here's a link to his santa escapade thread with a few pics
