Title: Chain Conversion
Post by: Ranger06 on June 21, 2009, 12:41:17 PM
I have heard people mention a 520 chain conversion...or just a chain conversion in general...

What does this do for me?  I ride an 07 695.  Thanks

Check your owner's manual, but I'm pretty sure your 695 has a 520 chain already.

Most of Ducati's bigger bikes come with a 525 chain/sprockets. The sprockets are thicker and the chain is wider. Doing the 520 conversion can save you some weight. Doesn't seem like a lot of weight to lose, but considering the fact that its unsprung/rotating mass, it adds up.

More info HERE (http://www.gizmology.net/sprockets.htm).

The 695 has a 520 chain set up stock.
