Title: Ridereport: Lithuania- Bulgaria Post by: didzhej on June 21, 2009, 10:51:34 PM As requested, all for u girls! ;)
Lets begin with the report, have little hope to complete it in few days. [coffee] Our trip began at Motoshop (local dealer for yamaha etc.), they did us breakfast. Planed start at 9am. From the left Tomas, Ugnius (guy who did as little 'see off' party), Vytas and me. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_mapiedai.jpg) Great ride from Vilnius, runing to Polish border. Begins to rain... :( And it follows us all way to Bulgaria (some times stops, some times - not). (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3254.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3256.jpg) As a new tradition, we buy every Playboy edition in every country: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3261.jpg) Late dinner stop in a middle of ... poland: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3269.jpg) We did only 700 km's first day becouse of rain, and becouse Tomas have only dimmed visor on his helmet - it is not possible to run at night (don't speek about rain and night). First stop in Poland - nice place Hotel Duo. Photos about "simple apparel drying instructions": (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00274.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040883.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040886.jpg) Second day was pretty good, no big clouds, good temp for riding. Crossing border to Slovakia, then Romania. Great curvy mountain roads- hairpins. Thats how we look after 40 km's of them: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3275.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040922.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040920.jpg) Refueling and crossing border to Romania: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_SANY3281.jpg) Ducati became real enduro bike! Take a look, how hard shock absorbers have to work on those roads - bumbs... (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00289.jpg) Taking Romania in short way - we turned into Bucharest direction, crossing Sibiu (nice town, becouse http://store.throttleentertainment.com/images/products/detail/Romaniacs2007Poster.jpg (http://store.throttleentertainment.com/images/products/detail/Romaniacs2007Poster.jpg) Romaniacs takes place in there). ~150 kms to Bucharest was on motorway, so we didn't get any new impressions on that - just ride, but n some way i broke my new sunglasses, they was alive 1h20min :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040990.jpg) There is border Romania-Bulgaria, Dunai bridge: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1040998.jpg) Arived to Ruso city, next to border, weather getting wors, clouds became dark, storm wind... 300+ km's to go :( (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00299.jpg) Storm ended after 100 hardes km's in our trip: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050002.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050007.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050005.jpg) Afer few hours we've done our trip, BURGAS. Photos made next morning: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00305.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00306.jpg) After long night, going to get breakfast... but as i can gues, first and closest bar didnt' accept credit cards (even EUR'os not), we need to exchange some cash - direction -> center?! We found several banks not far from first bar, but as we notice there is more nice place besides - Grill bar. yes!!! First beer! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050021.jpg) After braekfast - Black sea! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050042.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050046.jpg) Tomas knows how save is to swim and observe topless girls close to the beach!!! :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050049.jpg) I visit my doughter that day (she was very suprised, very very!). She use to live in Burgas for few years. Next few days in Burgas was bit drunk, bit funny, bit... of everything! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050050.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050058.jpg) There is monument for polish-lithuanian poet Adam Mickevich, he use to live in Burgas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Mickiewicz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Mickiewicz) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050064.jpg) We left Burgas after 3 days, taking ride to new place, with no big houses, bars, human crowds. Just sea, nature and sand... (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050169.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050174.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050171.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050211.jpg) Dinner: [drink] (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050228.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050218.jpg) LituaniaTwin dash: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050191.jpg) Not all at all, to be continued! Anyway - some new people, new adventures, new experiences. So those photos was shot on the way to Doug's place. Very windy was that day. Traveling on bikes was more than adventure, u must to fight, not only with km's u r driving, but wind, it was so strong... I have no imagine how to describe. Anyway, those was in a middle of way. Nothing important, but... Photoset :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050272.jpg) Art! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050278.jpg) AfricaTwin. Title: Re: Ridereport: Lithuania- Bulgaria Post by: didzhej on June 25, 2009, 03:03:35 AM Morning. Leaving Doug's place.
~300 km's to Serbia border. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSCN0737.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050380.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050381.jpg) Have no good opinion about Serbia, still country after war etc. But nothing special. Good cars, bikes crossing they roads. Launch at this little cafe in the petrol station. Have nice surprise - Ferrari F40 just came by! What a sound. And I just realized that it's not so bad at all in Serbia! :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050383.jpg) Have met couple from Italia, they going to Turkey for holidays. Have told about our trip - they think we're crazy, especial me (i guess - because of Monster) :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050384.jpg) It's about 250km's from Bulgaria's border to Nis, Serbia. From there - great motorway till Budapest, Hungary. Take a look to landscape... (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050389.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050392.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050395.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050396.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050399.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050400.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050404.jpg) One small fix for 'africa' on motorway: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050407.jpg) Other landscape: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050406.jpg) Don't have more pictures from Serbia or Hungary, because we cross it very fast. Only what we came in to Budapest at night and began to search for hostel/hotel near road to Krakow (ignoring that first we must cross Slovakia) :) Getting angry after every hotel we step by- they all was full! Something wrong, so much hostels/hotels and B&B was fully filled, no rooms, or even beds. Getting cold outside and we have no thoughts to sleep in a tent (from lithuania we don't use any of two we bring with us). We came back on road to Krakow After 2 hours of searching , crossing border with Slovakia. Found one hostel after 100km's from border. After little chat with administrator we agree to see what they have (he told that 'nothing special'), but u can't imagine how I was happy when we came in to room with 8 or more beds (some of them was double, some not). Overall we get into paradise after ~1300km's we travel from Doug's. This is our lat meal that night. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050415.jpg) View from balcony: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00373.jpg) Photos from Slovakia mountains: (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050421.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050422.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050425.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050426.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050429.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050431.jpg) And this is a prove that GPS or Speedometer is lying. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050427.jpg) Stay tuned!, that's not all! [coffee] Title: Re: Ridereport: Lithuania- Bulgaria Post by: didzhej on June 26, 2009, 03:41:00 AM Slovakia (here I go again!)
Refueling. Duca use 3,5Ltr/100km on this road (avg.speed ~75km/h). (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050429.jpg) 400km's to Krakow! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050431.jpg) Here is little repair for Africa, screw from clutch leveler was lost somewhere... (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050433.jpg) Going to Krakow, have traffic jam's near town... after it stoped for launch. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050443.jpg) Attention, this is not what u thinking... :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050448.jpg) And Vytautas looks all way to home like that, when he realized that this car is based on VW BUG :) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050453.jpg) Road to Warsaw was fixin', every inch of it. Big traffic jams 50 km to Warsaw on one side of motorway - we slow down to 2'nd gears. Going side of the road. After we get into normal road, we reach another t.jam- it was almoust to airport. No sideways - so I go among cars, Vytautas delay 10 min after me, Tomas 5 min more! ... I wait for them near airport. (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050457.jpg) (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_P1050458.jpg) Hehe... that not us!!! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00379.jpg) 500kms from Warsaw to Vilnius. Here we in Alytus (~70km's from Poland -Lithuanian border). Tired as hell. 19 hours on bikes!!!! and 1100 km done. 100 km left to Vilnius/HOME!!!! (http://files.jovarauskas.net/2009/20090606/_DSC00385.jpg) And finally Vilnius. HOME. Goodbye kisses... and hope to get to bed asap.
