Title: Streetfighter BMW
Post by: roy-nexus-6 on June 22, 2009, 09:14:04 PM
Not sure if this is a Derby - searched, but nil entries.

The similarities between this bike and Celli's are quite startling.

Check the wheels - carbom fibre paint job!

"With this first conversion, he developed a taste for it and since he needed a show bike anyway for his different appearances at motorcycle shows to promote his Carbonlook paint jobs, he started to think about how to turn his Enduro into a unique eye-catcher with a very innovative "Streetfighter" look. Personal opinion.   Asshole ugly (and that is ugly my friends).  And that rider does NOT look very comfortable at all!

Definitely not everyones cup o' tea, but I like it. . . at least, as an exercise in design.

is this marketed towards those who bought pontiac aztecs?  OMFG that is ugly.

BTW,  I think the 999 is gorgeous.  That bike is still ugly.

I mean, it's ugly, that's for sure, but I think it's really cool too. It's definitely the bike Judge Dread would ride.

There are a couple on the pics that Celli put up that are pretty slick. They are definately shooting for some monster money.

lol. I was thinking more in terms of the visual mass of the bike being primarily forward.  [beer]

Mind you, I think the tank/fairing arangement on this BMW has taken it too far.

However, as an exercise in design and marketing, it works - he wanted to build a bike to take to shows, to get his name out there, and this succeeds.

well, there's also the extra-stubby seat, the style of the hugger... stacked headlight...

but yeah, that's a crazy looking machine ^_^

I dig it because it's completely different. It does seem a little "form over function" as the seating-handlebar position looks a little awkward but it's not so far out "conceptual" that it's some non-working prototype for a bikeshow. Dig the "Lo-ryder" concepts also. I can't see BMW ever going through with either of these but it would be a pleasant surprise.

If you retag it with a Ducati emblem, this board would be up in arms. If it was made by Honda, no one would care.

All the king's men couldn't put Humpty back together again...

So they outsourced the work and the Germans turned him into a beemer.
