The oil coolers on the 2004-ish S4R bikes have what looks like a sensor on the left hand side. Is this for temperature or pressure maybe? Also, could you block that sensor hole off somehow?
Pressure sensor is on the engine cases just above the filler. It's more likely a temp sensor.
If you can find out what the thread is you could plug it.
Hmmmm...sensor?? My '05 has an oil line that feeds the heads.
I'm assuming the OP is thinking of using an S4R cooler on a 2-valver.
You can block it off for that application.
For retrofitting to an S4 or just for S4R use, you would need that oil line for the heads, as pompetta noted.

Bingo. The S2R has an oil cooler but the S4R oil coolers look much cleaner IMO. I especially like the look of the oil cooler on the Testastretta S4R's but still haven't found a used one for sale. An older S4R cooler popped up on ebay thus the question. Thanks for the replies.

I have an extra oil cooler from an S4R...cleaned up, no leaks.
