So, I have noticed lately quite a few people here with very large pictures in their signature line. Problem is, some of them take up close to 1/3 or more of the screen and if you're on a mobile device (iPhone, BB, etc) just forget about it.
So, this is my plea. If you think this post is directed at you, please shrink the pic in your signature line.
Thank you NAKID (aka Chris)
i had a pet named peeves too.
so i disabled peoples signature line in my preferences
You might want to change the thread title to something more descriptive.

I blocked sig blocks along time ago. ;)
I have a pet peeve of wet socks.
I like seeing what people have in their sig lines. But some are just A BIT MUCH...

Today on Maury.
the old style used to make them small. maybe have them bring that aspect back? post in Board Tech Issues and see who bites.
I did. They don't want to change the files cause they may cause problems later down the line when they upgrade...
crunched them to 60px by just changing the css file, no php edits ;D
60px might be too small though, what is a good height?
mitt
I'm thinking 60 is too small. I say 100-120 would probably look better. Thanks for looking into it mitt...

It was driving me crazy too. Go find a couple threads with really big sigs and pm them to me so I can look at them while fiddling.
I can't seem to find any huge ones when I am looking for them.
mitt
The problem with this css file edit, is that it makes all sigs that height, pic or not, so the page will grow...
mitt
OK, using the css elements
min-height:10px;
max-height: 110px;
Now the sig sizes will be between 10px and 110px tall (they don't all have to be 110px).

Great-now he's going to whine in the wrong board whenever he wants something.
I insist you make the content 10% of the post size and the rest signature.

he was all whiney when I set it at 60, cause his sig pic is about 125 tall [laugh] Pot, meet kettle.
I think 110 is too tall personally, and I hold the red button.

I did "whine" in the right thread first and got told it was more trouble than it was worth. Hence this thread...

Were those the exact words?
Or was there a question about php edits?
Be fair...
Mr Exact.... :P
Well, I did post the link. There was not a question, you said it was a php edit that causes issues with updates.
That is more trouble that it's worth, no?
php edits = bad
css edits = good
10 minutes with google and ' smf sig line pics size ', and finding a css work around and everything is good.
Let it go people [thumbsup]
mitt
And it took me less than a minute in photobucket to alter my pic to show properly with the 100 pixel maximum. It's really not that difficult...

Yes, Paula said it. Sorry mitt. Thank you!
checkin to see if my sig still fits...
Me too I'm tired of looking at NAKID's 240 rear tire.
[cheeky]
I seem to remember that VisceralReaction has a huge pic in his sig. :-\
Edit: Not any more! [thumbsup]
I just got back from vacation... my pets pee'd lots
Yeah Viceralreaction wasn't thinking about mobile users.
Sorry Nakid, I removed my pic. :)
No need to remove it. Just resize the pic to fall into the 100 pixel height limit...
