Here is the scoop.
Started the bike in the morning.  Everything was fine.  Warmed it up and went on my way.  Stopped at gas station to get gas.  After filling up the bike wont start.  
When I turn the key all the lights and gauges work.  Does its little spin back and forth with RPM and MPH.  Engine light turns off.  Try to start and nothing.  Just a click and that is it.  I pushed the starter the RPM gauge goes up to 5 and then back down.  Have no clue what happened.  
I did leave the key in it in the on position, while i went inside to pay but that is it.   So I was so lucky to be able to push it 3 miles back to my home.  Great way to start Wednesday.
Anyone ever have this happen.

Monsters has a different energy saving method as described in repair manual as follows ;
This model is fitted with an energysaving control unit that avoids current absorption if the key stays on ON, the
control units is disabled if the starter button is not pressed after 15 seconds from key-on, take the key to OFF and back to ON to restart. It is recommended not to leave the key to ON when engine is off.
Apply the monster start up procedure, fully OFF the cold start. turnd the key ON and wait till gauges sweep, then put the cold start fully ON and press the start button while kill switch is ON position.
supposing you tried this and it was a failure to start, i recommend you to check spark plugs, if she is firing. If so, try to hear if fuel pump and relay working. If this is also OK, then u need to try to run your bike for about 40 times as many Monster riders experienced many times up to now.

Try charging the battery, and check to make sure the kill switch is in the proper position.
			
 
			
			
				Replace battery.... check the main connections from battery.. make sure clean and tight.

				Well,  Thanks erveryone for all the input.   Turned out to be the Battery.   Got a TRickle charger and charged the battery overnight.  Now erverything is peachy...

				Make sure to get the charging system checked out.  If it would not start after a ride it is possible that the battery is not being charged properly & could strand you again.

Well, after four days.  The Duc died and left me stranded at work.  The old Batt was toast.  Put a new one in and today running great.    
Also, anyone else notice the Duc dealership sure seems busy.  I called on Friday and the earlist that they could look at it would be Wednesday.  5 days to just get is looked at.
