Title: Motorcycle Shipping
Post by: NK on June 25, 2009, 10:07:23 AM
I need to transport my monster from Los Angeles to Michigan. I am looking into using a motorcycle shipping company. I want a company that uses air ride trucks and enclosed trucks. I have been searching around on the web for the best companies, but there are quite a few. Does anyone have any companies that they recommend? Any companies that I should steer clear of? I was thinking about having my bike picked up and dropped off at my door, so I wouldn't have to have my bike sit at a distribution center and run the risk of it being handled without me.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Nick

I used ForwardAir to get my bike when I purchased it from a DML'er in Denver shipped to AZ. It was flawless and not too expensive. I'd use them again if needed.

Good Luck.  [thumbsup]

Even though these guys look like they just have ships, they also do cross country

i used haul bikes and they use covered trailers and only deal with motorcycles only.  i would trust them again, a bit expensive but worth it.

Did your monster fit in small or regualar size container?

When I used ForwardAir my bike was put in it's own steel container and secured by the person who shipped it to me - not handled by any employees, then the container was locked with a personal pad lock. It was rock solid and very much worth the money - which for the distance was really pretty cheap.
