so, having problems with my carbie M900. starts with full choke, will run ok with full choke for a bit, maybe 20 seconds, then dies. sometimes can get it to rev up, but almost immediately dies after i give it a little gas, even with the choke off. this all continues even if im able to warm it up a bit. battery seems ok, voltage checked at terminals rises with the motor running, to maybe 14v. so ignition there seems fine. im gonna try new plugs tomorrow...any other suggestions?maybe carb adjustment or clogged fuel line/filter somewhere?

I know next to nothing about carbs, but I'd check fuel filter, pump, lines and floats first.

Definitely sounds like fuel starvation to me - you haven't kinked the fuel line when you've had the tank up recently have you? (And you _do_ have fuel in the tank, right?) Any chance you've just hit a bad or dirty batch of fuel? Try pulling the vacuum line off the fuel pump, you might have a perished diaphragm in the pump, they'll often leak fuel down the air line if that happens.

well, this has been an entire motor swap, so all the fuel lines, ignition wires, EVERYTHING has been recently messed with  :P. so thats why im not sure where to start, it could be anything. thanks for the ideas, i will check the fuel system and lines first, as i agree it seems like fuel starvation. the gas is a bit old, but it runs for a little, so i would think it would continue running if it at least started on old gas. the problem rears its ugly head when i grab for any throttle...it...just...dies...
