144 million dollars per season. 144 million. Dollars. One hundred. And forty-four. Million. Dollars. Per season. Which is five months long. 144 million dollars for five months. Five months. One hundred and forty-four million dollars to judge “American Idolâ€. For five months.
make the beast with two backs my life.
“EARLY salary figures from Simon Cowell's 'American Idol' contract negotiations are leaking out and they're eye-popping.
Cowell, who reportedly made $36 million last year for judging the hit competition show, has been offered three or four times that amount â€" between $100 million and $144 million per year â€" by co-producers Fox and 19 Entertainment to stick with 'Idol' when his contract expires next May.
While $36 million may seem like a lot of money for five months worth of snarky comments and eye-rolls, it's only a fraction of the estimated $900 million that 'Idol' rakes in a year.â€
Hopefully Paula will read this and go to the producers and say she wants 144 million a year too. If she does do that, cover your ears, because big laughs are coming.
If he can get that kind of $$$, good for him.

And thats just for American Idol, he has X-Factor which is the same thing in Europe, and he produces a few other shows. Who would like to be Simon Cowell? This guy!

144m/5
Taken as a per month over 5 months, that's $28.8m/month. Taken as a yearly income drops it to an even $12m Still not too shabby.
Doesn't he also own the label that signs the American Idol winners or is that Simon Fullerton?
hmmmmmm
the guy in charge of turning up the heat on the dancing chickens hot plate makes that while teachers, cops, fire fighters and military service personel are getting pinkslips

I'm not shocked at his percentage of the proffit pie...I'm shocked at the proffit pie.
Really? You're shocked? I'm not. I'm not saying that there aren't better things to spend money on, but I'm not shocked...
Fortune always favors the entertainment and sporting industries ... Not suprised at all.

Wait, what? If it's $144m/5mo, then I get the $28.8m/mo. But then isn't the yearly income $28.8m x 12 assuming that there are multiple seasons in a year back to back? I don't know how many seasons of American Idol there are a year but even if there's only 1 season, doesn't that make his yearly income the original $144m for Idol alone? How'd you get down to 12m for a year? I'm confused.
edit:
Ooooh, I see what you did. Assuming there is only 1 season a year it's $12m/mo, not 12m total...

Yup.
I was basically sticking my thumb in, and correcting DMouse' 144m times 5, which would have equaled 720m.
Really doesn't matter, tohough. Either way, it's waay too much moola for being a dickwad.
I devoted an entire minute to the show......its a minute Ill never get back, "Dawg".... [roll]
Three more annoying people, I cant imagine....
Ryan Secrest made $45,000,000 last year.
Does that make you feel better ? Dolph
