Title: ~~~Official Speed Trap Locator Thread~~~ Post by: Scottish on May 20, 2008, 07:05:12 AM I just remembered that we NEED this thread. Anyway same as before on TOB but I haven't heard anything about cop talk being taboo at this point. I think they just want everything to stay civil.
Anywhoooooo, on to the important stuff. If anyone is heading up north, I heard the [leo] are targeting motorcycles on Hwy36, apparrently there have been a lot of complaints of motorcycles speeding excessively through there. Once again showing that squids make it harder for all of us. As well I'm sure everyone knows by now, but reminders never hurt, Hwy115 between Colorado Springs and Canon City, and Hwy24 between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, are all being heavily monitored. Watch you're six's and keep the shiny side up! Also on the news the other night was a story about speed traps. It mentioned this: Trapster http://trapster.com/ Here's how to get started using Trapster® on your mobile phone: Create a Trapster® account from your Web browser (not mobile) using the "Sign-up" button on the home page. Get Trapster® on your Mobile Phone using these Instructions. You can either install the Trapster® application on your mobile, or simply use the voice and SMS features (no install required). Review the community guidelines. Report the location of live police traps (e.g. police with radar or laser guns set up), red light cameras, speed cameras, or usual police hiding spots, using the shortcut keys or menu items on your mobile phone. Or report live traps by voice using the toll free number. Be alerted when you approach previously reported traps. Simply leave Trapster® running on your mobile phone and listen for audio alerts. You can also get alerts for new reports in your area via SMS. http://www.trapster.com/how-it-works.php I have not tried it, but it looks good..and maybe if we can spread the word about it and get more people using it, it would help. Maybe post on other Motorcycle boards that we all use.... [thumbsup] |
