All of them are circular, its just the time frame. Some of it is the vapor cloud breaking up, and some of it is when its just forming.

Those are awesome! [thumbsup] I've seen a couple of them before in a Naval aviation book I have. IIRC, it is
caused by the air compressing, causing the moisture in the air to form "clouds" IIRC...usually happens over the open ocean on warm days when it is very humid.

Close, but in the wrong direction. The positive pressure wave is basically the leading edge of the "cone," but the cone itself is a low pressure zone. The suddenly lower pressure cools the air and causes the moisture in it to condense into vapor/clouds.
...and yeah, bad ass.
They sure do alot of "demonstrations" for the crew. ???
