Title: Helmet Cams
Post by: He Man on July 01, 2009, 10:44:45 AM
Most of you guys have seen the gopro helmet cam ( i think it was the same cam that dude who tank slapped his 848/1098 comming down from the wheelie)

but have any of you guys had experience with the Contour HD?

some sample videos here

its pretty much on par with the 720P handheld camera i have now ( its a samsung NV30HD). Its a bit more expensive then the go pro (go pro is only $189). but the resolution is much better, and its also much more stream line. however it isnt waterproof.

It's water resistant, rain, snow, mud.  But it can't be submerged.  They are coming out with a water proof case Oct 2009.  This is according to a rep at their company I called a few months back.

I've wanted one for a while, but decided to wait for better models and improvements.  The HD w/ a 16G card is perfect as far as what I was looking for.  Unfortunately its a micro SD so that means my 16G SD is going to gather dust and I need to buy a micro 16G.  The waterproof case really completes the picture with their product I think.  Since I'm in no rush to get this, I'm think I'm gonna wait a bit more and see that case.
