So I impregnated my wife which means I have a sober cab for a few months. I am looking to get tore up tonight. I get off in 20 minutes and need something creative to start off.
My usual is Captain Coke. Just not feeling like cokes tonight.
Beer is tough because I have the bladder of a 3 year old girl and a 30 minute car ride home.
What are you drinking this weekend?
Just do a few Irish Car Bombs.
Taste great, full of alcohol. [thumbsup]
Just so you know inlcudes whiskey and guiness!!
Scotch. Neat.
Put the rum down, and work your way from whiskey and coke (easy on the whiskey) until you work up to straight whiskey, then move on to scotch.
Eventually, you'll wonder what you ever saw in rum ;D
I will work on the scotch next week when I am in Pittsburgh and can expense it.
Bourbon and Ginger.
Or a Manhattan. (I prefer mine on the rocks.)
Tequila on ice.

I was in a bind and out of coke so I had a captain and vanilla cream soda last weekend and it was good. So once the buzz kicked in I put ice cream and whoop topping it it as well but that didnt work out the way I had invisioned.

Parisian Absinthe
Preparation:
take 1 glass, preferably 18 oz+ and add 2 shots of absinthe
take spoon and place 3-4 cubes of sugar (if available) on spoon. or granulated will work in a pinch.
pour 8-12 oz COLD water over sugar/spoon contraption into glass.
enjoy sight of Absinthe becoming cloudy and take in the delicious black licorice smell.
Sip or gulp liberally, your decision. Keep an eye out for the green fairy.
If you like Jagermeister (sp?) you'll enjoy this lovely beverage.
*Cheers!
ps: I've been drinking rum for the past 3 hours [thumbsup] [cheeky]
....you know how I know you're ghey....?
Another +1 for Scotch.
I've been drinking scotch since I was a wee lad, It truly is the nectar of gods.
I prefer blends to single malts, but everyone likes their own type/brand. I'm pretty partial to Johnny Black, it's relatively inexpensive and still damn good.
One of the best things about scotch is learning to drink it and discovering what you like. There are so many different varieties that you won't ever run out of something new to try [thumbsup]

Bourbon and Ginger.

Love me some Jack and Ginger.
Also love the Dark and Stormy (ginger beer and black rum)
In addition to the Manhattan, if you're a bourbon fan but like sweeter, go with an Old Fashion.
Another favorite for summer is Patron and Soda with a lemon wedge and a lime wedge - some friends of mine have named this drink the Trotsky (don't know why).
reverse Sake bomb
instead of dropping a shot of sake into a glass of beer
shot of beer into a glass of sake.
if u can do 3 of these [bow_down]

A Rusty Nail is a good drink as well. Scotch and a splash of Drambuie on ice. Sweet but smoove...

The one that did me in at Jean Lafite's Blacksmith Shop on an impromptu "Famous Cocktails of the French Quarter" evening a few years back that has since become a favorite: the Obituary Cocktail -- basically a gin martini with a dollop of Absinthe (or Pernod, before Absinthe was available in the states):
From "The Land of Forgotten Cocktails" http://www.thebollard.com/bollard/?p=2119 (http://www.thebollard.com/bollard/?p=2119)
Obituary Cocktail
2 ounces gin
.25 ounce dry vermouth
.25 ounce (more or less) absinthe or absinthe substitute
Put all ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass and stir briskly until well chilled. Strain into a chilled Martini glass. This may be garnished with a lemon twist. Or not â€" it's your funeral.
ended up going with Jameson and Ginger. Its called the Big Ginger at a spot called The Local.

one of my personal favorites for evenings at home.
If your intent is to get even more stupidaso at a quick rate, any flavor Martooni will do, triangleforge's recipe sounds super.

A Martini is made with Gin. So it's just a Martini. The other is a Vodka Martini. ;D
As far as martinis go, this is not bad.

+1 on scotch or whiskey
which reminds me, I've got a bottle of Gentlemen Jack over on the bar...
If the goal is to get as parallel to the floor as possible as soon as possible, I've got one for ya.
I invented it last year watching the Stanley Cup Finals. It's called Sidney Crosby's Tears.
3 oz Everclear
6 oz Sprite or Mist
as much ice as will fit in the glass. Garnish w/ either lemon or lime.
252 shot
1 shot Bacardi 151
1 shot Wild Turkey 101
Mix-Drink.
I was enjoying a good sippin' vodka last night at the bar downtown (Vladivistok). Double on the rocks (well - 1 ice cube) with a thin slice of lemon. Went down like water. Don't even know the brand. But, it was by far the smoothest vodka I've ever had. Tasted cleaner than the water. And, only cost me ~$2.
