I posted this on CAM, but decided I wanted a wider audience ;D and more opinions.
I posted up back in May when I wrecked my 620 dark. The damage wasn't exactly minor, but wasn't a total loss either. Since I only have liability insurance, I decided to fix it myself. Many of the DMF clan offered and sent parts, and now that significant progress has been made, I wanted to chronicle the journey, and thank those responsible.
The bike before the wreck;

The wreck scraped the right exhaust can, broke the right signals, ground about an inch off of the handlebar/throttle and bent the bar, ground an inch off of the right peg, damaged the tank, and snapped the right rearset into 3 pieces. Fortunately, the cases and forks weren't touched.

I ordered a new bar, and Nakid sent me a set of gel grips and a throttle. Kriswhite gave me a new front signal.I Ebayed a set of bar end mirrors while I was at it.(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2530/3685079569_27ee73f9a5.jpg)
I also Ebayed a new right rearset. Martin at Motowheels supplied a set of Oberon footpegs, and Redline Performance supplied a new brake switch.

I have a buddy who runs a body shop, so he got the tank. I decided to change the color, so I gave him the fender too.

Eric at Twisted Vinyl graphics sent me the decals after the first graphics shop dropped the ball.

Thanks also to YUU for the right rear signal.
Nice [thumbsup]
Dig the new color... [thumbsup]
is that flat orange or before clear coating? Looks nice!
It's supposed to get cleared Monday, and if that happens, I'll be able to install Tuesday night. It's taken longer than I hoped it would, but John's doing me a favor, so I really can't pregnant dog, and his work has been first rate so far.
looking forward to seeing the "final" product [thumbsup]
Love the color!!! Orange is underrated IMO. Post pics when complete!
Can't wait to see the final finish 8)
Sounds like you are almost back on the road [thumbsup] The bike will look great!
looks like you're on to something, Sand down your rearsets and rattle can them a flat black, it'll contrast with those pregnant dogin pegs.

Not a bad idea. Probably have to wait til winter for that, tho. It's been almost two months since I rode anything with two wheels, and at this point, I just want to get it back on the road.
My bud John's been running a little crazy, and keeps saying "Tomorrow, man, I promise."
[bang]
But I rode by there this morning, and they had the tank and fenders out in the shop, so maybe. . .
I'll post when I get them back, I'm antsier than any of you are. :-*
Glad everything is coming together for you...
And the heavens opened. . .
And an angel appeared. . .
And brought down gifts from above. . .
and it was good.

SWEET..!
Looking good man! You need an orange cowl to go with that...
you know when youve been tango'd
Got it running.
Put some gas in, hit the button, and she started purrin'. [clap] ;D
First ride'll have to wait for morning.
Still got a couple of things to finish(repaint the cans, replace the scraped front brake lever, etc) but she's now mechanically ready to run.
Thanks again to all who donated, it really helped.
Jeff

gas cap looks funny is it an aftermarket one? it looks like its sticking up its maybe just the angle.
oh yeah black gas cap would rock too
If you're opposed to the chop - perhaps painting the beer tray orange as well as a cowl. Definitely needs a cowl.
maybe a flash new seat cover. Someone posted up this company that will do custom seat covers. Perhaps one like he got with Orange stitching as opposed to the red

I'm on a looow budget on this, so no aftermarket pipes. The gas cap looks funny because it wasn't fully installed at that point.
Took my first ride this morning. Couple of small fixes needed, but nothing to keep me off the road.
Rear brake lever is sitting too low. It's the original that I bent back after the crash, so I guess I need to bend it some more(or get a new one), bar end mirrors needed tightening. They'll take a bit of getting used to from the stockers. Otherwise, it's all good.
Jeff
And a little bling to finish things off.
