Title: hose to no where
Post by: alibaba on July 04, 2009, 10:57:25 PM
New 2009 Monster 696  in California - it appears there is some kind of black plastic emissions fume canister located at the lower front of the left side of the engine.  I see two hoses and assume one is coming from the fuel tank.  The other goes up and disappers into trellis frame somewhere.  When I happened to give it a very slight tug, it dropped down from wherever it was up under the  tank.

What should it attach to?  Or, does this hose just lay up in there somewhere and not attached to anything?  If so, what holds it in place?
Thanks,
Ron

That hose does indeed go to nowhere.  Just put it back where it was.

Just put it back where it was.

Or keep pulling harder [roll]

most likely goes to the throttle bodies. either replace it, or remove the nipple that is there, and replace with an M10 bolt.

this is one of the steps involved in the emissions can removal. a full how to can be found in the tutorials section
