Title: Pricing question. Post by: be350ka on July 05, 2009, 05:06:55 AM Well, in two weeks I will be a father, again. This time it is a little boy, so with two kids the bike is going to have to find a new home. It really is hard to do this, but it must be done.
My question is this. What price should I put on the bike? It is a 2009 Monster 696 that was bought last September. So, there is a little over a year left on the factory warranty. I also purchased an extended warranty that is good until Sept of 2013. The bike has 3500 miles and I have ALL maintenance records and the title in hand. It has the carbon Termis, DP oil cooler, DP tail kit, Rizoma bar ends, Rizoma bar end mirrors, Rizoma sportline grips, Speedy Moto frame sliders, Speedy Moto front axle sliders, Motovation rear axle sliders, and all stock parts. It is in VERY good condition and has always been well taken care of. I am seeing some like mine that are all stock selling for $8,500. I know that this is a "used" bike, so I need to be realistic. Any help would be appreciated. Title: Re: Pricing question. Post by: yotogi on July 05, 2009, 05:48:47 AM The $8,500 number seems to be pretty common with or without upgrades. The first year depreciation hit seems to be the same regardless of the bike. If you have the stock parts, put them back on before selling the bike. While they will make your bike easier to sell, they will not get you the same amount of money than if they were off the bike.
Sorry to hear that your situation is necessitating the sale of your bike, but congratulations of the additions coming to your family. Title: Re: Pricing question. Post by: nikkimonster on July 05, 2009, 06:40:32 AM im in the bay area san francisco, california. last couple of 696 sold for $8k. one of them only had 350 miles, all stock. if you have all stock parts and the time to advertise and ship, put them back on then sell the hop up parts on CL, Ebay, or DMF parts for sale section.

You will make way more than $8500 when all is said and done after selling the aftermarket parts. Title: Re: Pricing question. Post by: redxblack on July 05, 2009, 07:49:51 PM Well, congrats on the new baby. That's awesome. Hopefully the bike ends up with someone who knows Rizomas from a hole in the ground. I didn't when I got my modded monster, but I appreciate the hell out of it now!

Good luck with the sale and the new " little guy." Dolph :) Title: Re: Pricing question. Post by: hcomp on July 14, 2009, 11:41:01 PM Congrats!
With the mods you have, I would try to get $9K for it. I am going to be a dad here in 10 weeks so I know your pain... You have the right parts (including the much needed oil cooler) so it should bring some additional $$$$ |
