Title: Moto GP (and other races) "SPOILER"
Post by: dusty on July 05, 2009, 07:14:38 AM
Well, that was a spoiler of sorts, but at least I didn't tell you who rode the bikes and who got off hard!  Both Lorenzo and Stoner looked to be in pretty significant pain after their respective high sides.  Lorenzo, in particular, had a rough get-off.  Hope they're both OK to ride 100% today.

Also, in the line of spoilers, Nicky will sport a new paint job today to correspond with the release of the special edition 848 Hayden.  150 pieces will be made in a special red/white/blue scheme, each hand signed by Nicky.  According to the story they were to be released immediately, so we should be able to see one this week at PJ's!  See http://www.nickyhayden.com/index.cfm/p/news-july-09-ducati-nicky-848 (http://www.nickyhayden.com/index.cfm/p/news-july-09-ducati-nicky-848) for more details.  He also has a new helmet design for the weekend ..... http://www.nickyhayden.com/index.cfm/p/news-july-helmet-09 (http://www.nickyhayden.com/index.cfm/p/news-july-helmet-09)

When Scott said Yamaha I thought for sure Rossi so i would say he didnt give it away. Great high sides though. Cameraman didnt really catch Stoners high side. Awesome riding though you could tell everybody was going balls to the wall, rear ends shaking, traction control stretched to the limit! whoohoo watch out today for the #2 man! [bow_down] [bow_down] [bacon]

You guys just suck!  >:( HP, if you thought Cloner hadn't spoiled it, you just did.  I am just glad I happened to watch the qualifying last night.  KB and I had plans, but cancelled them at the last minute only because we couldn't record it, but we know that others do and would like to watch them at their leisure.  Ok, enough ranting.

So now can we keep the results of any races, (ie, MotoGP, AMA, Tour de France, etc.) here please.  That way you can give anything/everything away and anyone who wants to wait can.  Thanks guys.  :-*  [moto]   [popcorn]   [bacon]

So who did i spoil it for? Not you. So why do I suck? These were the time trials not the race.

Easy big guy....suck is just an expression.   :-*  I just thought this would be a good way to be able to talk about races, qualifying, etc. without spoiling it for someone who has to wait to watch for whatever reason.  And, yes, it was just qualifying, but may have been more exciting than the race will be.  We don't always get to watch these.  No worries.   [moto]

SPOILER!  At least for you...Stoner had the fastest lap in warm ups this morning.  ;D  [bow_down]

Warm ups: Stoner, Rossi, Pedrosa, Edwards, Lorenzo, Dovizioso and Hayden.

Well, here I come bringing up the rear in the Chastisement of the Violators of Code.  I finally had a chance to check the forum today and read everything I needed to know about yesterday's time trials and good hints of how it went today.  I set my DVR, but I worked both days and haven't had a spare moment to enjoy them.  That is for tonight when I get off.  I will be levying oaths worthy of a smelly pirate hooker in your general direction, HP and Cloner.  I can only hope that your discussions of time-trial and race mishaps will be limited to this thread which I will be sure to stay out of until I've had the unadulterated pleasure of watching them for myself.  There's nothing more fun than watching my main man do what he does best, I still like the suspense of wondering when it's going to happen.  Okay, said my piece, I feel better.   [cheeky]  Can't wait till tonight to see how it all went down.

Sorry bubba, I posted on a couple of different threads (after you headed up the mountain), but forgot to send you a smoke signal earlier for you to record a different channel.   As if you cant tell by now who won, the Q was the best "race".   My 1cent.

Congrats, girlfriend!  Jorge made a decent showing, as well, today.  Yesterday, not so hot.  I imagine he's shot full of pain killers still.  Hooray for our mutual guy, too,!!  In fact, Stoner is who I always really want to win.  If he's not going to win it, then it's all about Jorge.  He just came onto my radar when our crashes seemed to be coinciding.  I grew fond of him for his get-after-it spirit.  He gives those guys a run for their money.  Eager to see what tomorrow brings.   :D

yeah, that was spectacular.  I watched it in slow motion about nine times to see exactly what the tire, the bike, and the rider did.  I was probably  little more spellbound than I should've been.  I just like to know what to expect.  I replayed it for Scottish yesterday when he was up here as we were talking about cold tires and riding during the winter down there.

idk, some people say it was all fabrizio fault, but the way been rides he cuts into the corner so there was no where for him to go....

i think it was a sucky but to fast move on fabs part but u never know if ben just intentional cut him off....so either way i see it.....but it was damn good riding and entertaining [laugh]

but fab is my man!!

i loved it when he had a sign saying "i love u ben"  [laugh]

that has to be a hit to the ego....

THP was telling me that there was an argument between the crew of ducati and the riders
anyone heard of this?

i'll look around and see if i can find anything..

but that was a DAMN good race too..

Go Edwards a much deserved podium for him  [clap]

We were guessing what lap he would crash on  [roll]   He's getting better.

Compaired to what?  not sure.

Oh yeah,  Other  people  who  could  have  a  factory  sponsorship  and  not  crash  every  time  the  heat  is  on ... silly me.

Well...for those who missed, Pedrosa qualified on Poll by a wide margin, then Lorenzo, then Rossi.  First Ducati is Hayden in 6th nearly 2 seconds per lap off of Pedrosa's pace and over a second off of Lorenzo and Rossi.

There were a couple of crashes in Qualifying, but nothing serious.  Looks like it ought to be a good race.

Kingbaby and Dusty, I tried to call you guys to see if your place was still on for qualifying, but I got no answers.  You guys still on for riding in the morning and racing at 1:00?

I guess everyone has now heard that Valentino's crash Sunday was attributed to racing in a "dirty line".  I'm now told, by an inside source at Indianapolis, that the "dirty line" was a tear-off.  The poor guy took a wide line to set up a pass and ended up braking across a tear-off.

What a shitty way to retire from a race!! [bang]

I watched the replay 3 times today, and could not for the life of me understand how you can bump the front brake and exit stage left when your going that straight on one of those machines.  [bang]

Thank you Senor.

i was so proud of nicky!!! and i made every attempt to anger every rossi fan i saw at indy!!! even made another ABR-any1 but rossi, buddy!!!  the races were awesome the venue is rdiculous and the museum there... just bring a drool towel.. and if you sit on the front straight it is the loudest thing ever, the GP bikes just echo off the buildings and make so much noise
if you guys haven't seen it, the indy mile race was hardcore, those guys have some cajones, there was a massive wreck in the main that will probably be leeked out  onto  u-tube soon, keeep your eyes peeled, 2 bikes and a rider up and over the fence at over 100, insanity for a race that pays maybe 2g's
but next year i think i'm just going to do miller and hit up the track day, AIRPLANEs and rental cars SUCK

Thanks for the hospitality last night, Cloner, we had a blast.   [beer]

And if anyone thinks an 848 can out run a Japanese 600 (any of them), the answer is NO...at least not on a Saturday in Daytona.  :-\

Flat track is on Speed Channel @ 4 today.
