Title: A Winter's Ride in July....
Post by: ungeheuer on July 08, 2009, 05:40:11 AM
Australia isn't just urban sprawl surrounded by uninhabited red dust.  I thought I'd show you around my neighbourhood, blessed as it is with some fine motorcycling roads.  I took these pics on today's 350km mid-winter ride in the state of Victoria, south-eastern Australia - where I'm fortunate enough to reside.

Early morning, its cold.

The only traffic... is me  ;D

...but I do have to share the road with the occasional local...

Mid-day and it's warmer now...

...so down from the hills to the coast

And, as the afternoon sun begins to wane, time to head homeward once again...

...but not before a quick beer and a bite to eat in the pub  ;)...

Thanks for sharing, great pics!   replace the kangaroo with a deer on the road sign, and it could be Central/Northern California!

That's beautiful country - I didn't know anywhere in Oz looked like that.

Aren't there 10 deadly snakes and several nasty spiders and big salties waiting to bike you everywhere though.  That's the impression some of those shows on TV paint it.

Beautiful place! We should all come down to visit. When's good for you? ;D

Great pics!!- if you think that that is a cold morning, try Canadian winters (-20 C and 1 metre of snow)

My Ozzy cousins from Melbourne still can't believe how we have to remove ice and snow from the car and driveway in the morning.

Ah that's just propaganda put out by the Ministry of Keeping This Place To Ourselves  ;)   So... c'mon Down, you bring the beer money and I'll show ya around  ;D.
