This thread is bordering a political thread. And its not easy to make cuts you have lobbyist from every side on every subject fighting for what they represent. So he just can't click over what he wants like we did.

Latinbalar? Oh excuse me, I spoke up. [roll] This whole thread is in the off-limits area. But it's my fault? How are taxes non political?
Right, it was pushing the limits until it was pushed over. Fine lock it, I don't care. Some people just can't seem to follow simple rules. [roll]
This was really more about budget than it was about taxes, but it is no fun arguing about whether it is political or not.
Also, people need to stop rounding up to "political" when these kinds of threads come up. It becomes kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
If you don't start no shit, they won't be no shit.
Alright I alone am in violation of the rules. Fine, kiss it I'm out. [roll]
[coffee]
Interesting little exercise. There are defiantly things that could be done that aren't in that little chart. Sucks people are gonna be getting the short end of the stick. Hopefully future generations will learn from all of our mistakes and live within their means.

You'd be amazed by the power of the simple word
NO
i got it down to 1.75 billion deficit.
the remainder can be made up by cutting CDF Cal-Fire wages/retirement/etc... to what their employees are actually worth in a fair market, as compared to others who do the same job. [thumbsup]
Freeze spending for 5 years.
In other words, don't add on each year, keep it at the same level it is now , no increases .
Dolph :)
this isn't polyticks
it is economics

here is why it goes from being economics to poly-ticks
they (the people we stupidly elected into office), dangle jobs over the balcony like MJ and say.....don't make me drop them...don't make me drop them. we need to raise taxes, of we'll have to drop them.
that's bullshit.
the only way to grow an economy is to use resources. to the tards in charge they see increased tax revenue alone as growth.
picture a kiddie pool filled with water.
the pool is the state. the water is money.
taxing people and spending that money within the states border is the equivalent of taking a cup of water from one end of the pool, and dumping it in the other.
the water level does not change. weeeeeeeee we just shuffled money. and....we just created a job for somebody to hold the cup [roll]
now picture the pool filled with kids. some of the kids have cups..... some do not.
kids being kids...lots of splashing, lots of flinging water, be it by cup or by hand. every drop of water outside the pool is a loss. same as buy'n things made outside the state. it's gone.
give the kids a couple of hours out there, and eventually a few of those kids will pee in the pool. one by one, kids start to leave the pool (dripping water over the edge as they leave) because of all the peeing going on. wow...the water level sure did drop with all those kids gone.
how will we ever fill the pool...... I know, we'll hire a lifeguard. Does the lifeguard know know how to make a water filtration device? nope, he's just a lifeguard. Does the lifeguard pray for rain? nope...he/she is a state employee and there is that whole separation of church and state thing. The lifeguard does the only thing he knows to do..... he looks the other way when kids are pee'n and he even pees a lil himself. Good job....the water level is back up.
Too bad it's 45% urine.
This explains the smell in parts of San Francisco and LA
pee is a tax...it's a byproduct of the water.
over the past (i dunno how many years) California has resorted to raising it's water/money levels by peeing in the pool. geee, I wonder why all the people are leaving the state ???
Next time I'm in California ill pee in your pool. [bacon]
What if somebody poos?
