A 4 wire loom ends at a blanked off black plastic plug attached by a large rubber strap to the right side of the tool bag compartment. What is this for please?

Computer diagnostics I believe. That's where they plug into at the dealership. Or it was at least in my 996. The 695 has a similar one coming from the ecu area.
Actually saw them plug the diagnostics computer in there to reset my maintenance indicator and reset the TPS [thumbsup]
