Title: New York City motorcycle parking garages Post by: hydra on July 13, 2009, 01:36:47 PM hello folks,
there doesn't seem to be a proper motorcycle parking list and feedback yet here in the NYMMC section. so i thought we could have a thread listing known motorcycle parking garages in NYC being that it's quite scarce to find a good garage. i'm always on the hunt for a garage as i don't like parking my bike on the street. please share your experiences with garages that accept motorcycles, monthly or daily. i know we'd all appreciate it and would be a good reference for everyone. GMC parking- 8th St btwn macdougal and 6th ave. used to do a monthly parking there with my car and occasionally would park my bike there. nice group of guys and i had a good experience there for many years while i was working in that area. i haven't parked there in about 3 years so not sure if it still has the same vibe but i had a monthly there for over 3 years and the vibe stayed the same. so i'm assuming it's still being managed the right way. www.nymparking.com seems like a good site with a bunch of locations listed but no real feedback on how good the locations actually are. i'd like to try a couple of them that are mentioned. risingwolfgarage@aol.com 9th and 2nd Ave Michael Wernick- (212) 475-5858 cdawg mentioned this garage. i called michael today. it's monthly parking only and he's full at the moment. he does put people on a waiting list and seems to be a decent enough fellow form what i can tell over the phone. going to go check out the place today or tomorrow. maybe CDawg can give us some feedback on the place??? taken from Howie's thread http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=11971.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=11971.0) Not cheap, but, if you are desperate: Howard, We take Motorcycles at all of our locations. Monthly rates are generally $175 for Bikes. We take the customer to their assigned monthly spaces and do not valet. As for the Daily motorcycle we take them but have our regular rates in place and escort the customer to designated bike areas available. We do not valet Bikes so we generally get regular rates for daily customers. Most Garages do not take them for this very issue. They can not take them because they do not valet them soi they sometimes get in the way since they can not control them or move them/ work around them. If someone becomes a regular with a motorcycle at a Meyers facility but not often eneough to become a monthly we work some deep discounts out. We are very flexible. The locations are: 154 East 87th Street - 3rd & Lex- 212-722-6500 Kendy is the Manager 141 West 43rd /44th Street- 6th & Bdway.-212-997-7690 Jimmy is the Manager 9 west 35th/36th Streets- 5th & 6th - 212-268-8572 Jaime is the Manager 324 West 34th/35th Streets - 8th & 9th 212-279-7310 Victor is the Manager 340 west 31st Street -8th & 9th - 212-594-1915 John is the Manager 218 West 31st/30th 7th & 8th - 212-736-8233 Gary is the Manager Thanks for asking Howard, and please feel free to call me directly if you have any questions. Howie, thanks for your help! best regards, Demian Title: Re: New York City motorcycle parking garages Post by: CDawg on January 04, 2010, 05:49:05 AM risingwolfgarage@aol.com 9th and 2nd Ave Michael Wernick- (212) 475-5858 cdawg mentioned this garage. i called michael today. it's monthly parking only and he's full at the moment. he does put people on a waiting list and seems to be a decent enough fellow form what i can tell over the phone. going to go check out the place today or tomorrow. maybe CDawg can give us some feedback on the place??? Great place. I highly recommend it. Rising Wolf only houses motorcycles...no cars. They provide monthly storage and winter storage. Each bike has it's own assigned parking spot. Each spot have shelves and electrical outlet. The garage provides compressed air, engine oil reclamation, and sinks. Security is tight and I have left all my tools, gear, and parts in the garage without anything "walking away". The physical space is very well maintained and clean. Michael runs a tight operation and the garage has a club house feel. The garage is 24 hours access without having to wait for parking attendants and such like a typical NYC garage. I have not parked at a better place, except perhaps your own garage... I have also parked at Kinney's Parking on 9th between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. They have some moto dedicated spaces which puts them ahead of the game, but like a typical NYC garage, it's pretty grimy. I wouldn't leave any gear there and there's no electrical outlets. Title: Re: New York City motorcycle parking garages Post by: Demian on January 04, 2010, 06:01:09 AM Hi Guys,
yes Michael's Rising Wolf Garage is the BEST in NYC! I used to park there in 1995 until 2002. I left my tools and gear there and never once did anything ever disappear. Not only was my bike and gear safe, but I made LIFE LONG FRIENDS there. Check out Rising wolf featured in the new book on Amazon MOTORCYCLE DREAM GARAGES by Lee Klancher. AWESOME BOOK! Michael is a good man and runs the tightest ship! He inspired me to open my garage and also helped me sort it out! If he has space GO TO RISING WOLF GARAGE....if he's full get on the wait list! If you need a GOOD GARAGE now or soon (not as good as Michael's yet ;) ) call me :) Demian Title: Re: New York City motorcycle parking garages Post by: hydra on January 05, 2010, 02:35:55 AM good to know damian...thanks for posting.

I do have a lounge and project for watching races, a foosball table for world cup practice for this summer, a speedbag if you want to work off those beers and a motorcycle lift if you want to wrench on your own stuff! ;D Title: Re: New York City motorcycle parking garages Post by: Demian on March 09, 2010, 12:35:15 AM parking aside, if anybody here is interested in watch the WSBK and MOTOGP races!
