"The fighter/bomber streaked past an apartment block on the banks of the Detroit River at the weekend.
It was part of a tactical demonstration fly-past to open a speedboat race in the North American city.
Officials waived rules to allow the Navy flyers to swoop under 100ft along the waterway."
:o
...negative ghostrider, the pat...oh, wait, go ahead...
Bet that rearranged some furniture.
When I lived in CO, the Air Force would run training in our valley (this is about 20 years ago now) from time to time. Back then, the rules were a little looser and they would go super sonic from time to time. Once when I was on the damn ski lift, 4 F-16 buzzed the mountain - close enough i could see rivets. Being on a ski lift that is shaking is not to much for for an 11 yo - but seeing the fighters that close was Awsome!
I know a guy that flies jets out of Lemoore NAB.
they are frequently used for the fly-bys at sporting events like laguna.
he went below the minimum altitude and got grounded for quite a while. [evil]
Nice SuperHornet...
Every summer the local airport hosts a small air show. They get quite a few nifty planes for a small affair. My place is in the sticks a few miles from there and as it turns out a lot of the planes make a pass over my place and turn around to head back to said airport for the next pass.
I've seen fighter jets bank close enough to see the pilot's head. [thumbsup]
The coolest yet was when a P51 and Japanese Zero "chased" each other around, circumnavigating my backyard deck in a large circle. [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
it warms my heart...fighter pilots and motorcyclists are not that different. I mean just look how he is looking THROUGH the turn. [bow_down]

It's sad that they were retired - the F-14 was one of my personal favorites too.

That pic was most definitely worth 30 days
I wonder if the type of combat aircraft one likes has any bearing on personality
I am not a fighter jet fan
I do however have a hard on for the A-10, the A1H, and the AC-130
I like flying guns
