Title: Craigslist Ducati Service ad.
Post by: RavnMonster on July 16, 2009, 04:29:07 AM
here is the ad, any one know who this is? sounds like a guy from speeds or something trying to make some side cash.

"Email for a free quote. Over 3 years of dealership experience, factory certified, with all necessary specialty tools. I can do anything from basic service to complete performance rebuilds. Will pick up and deliver bike for free as well."

I can personally recommend Mike and have had him service my motorcycle.

Absolutely excellent Tech and very fair with his prices.

Yes..... and he is fantastic.

My bike used to (or so I thought) run well.

After it was tuned by Mike, it takes off like a pitbull on crack.

Power everywhere.

Also chatted for a while and he gave me quite a few tips on things I can do myself.

AND ON TIME!!!!!!!!!! Not two weeks, same day!

Two weeks?  I wish I got my bike back from speeds in two weeks.  More like 4

I emailed him and asked him about doing a few things I can't (can't seem to find the time to) do myself.  Prices he quoted are very reasonable.  I plan to give him a go in a month or so when things here at the office slow down.  I'll let everyone know.....

I shot him an email as well. He replied pretty much right away.  even though i baited him a bit, he didnt bash speeds. very professional of him.

Ill definitely be giving him a call for future service.

I was going to ride out to him. My wife would follow me and drive back. Or O could use my brotherinlaws trailer and drive out myself. Let me know. I will not be able to do it until I close on the "refi" It should be next week sometime. I could take the bike out in two weeks or so.

I had Mike service my bike at the end of May and he did a great job for a great price.

He did take some effort to get in contact with, email being the better option.

kumabull, I'll pm you his email address.

He did mine too at the end of May. Mucho props! Bike runs like a raped ape. He's moved his base of OPs to Gaithersburg. Closer to his homefront in Olney. Kinda of convienent for me now as my office is in Olney.

Massimo, out of curiosity, what service did you have this guy do?  Would you mind pm'ing me how much he charged you?  I am about to have to do a little basic work on my bike and seeing how neither my tools or stands are here...  You get the picture.  ;)

I found out about Mike through Craigslist, his advertised rate was $50/hour. After reading about him here on the forum, I decided to contact him to do the valves on the 750 (and check a few other things as well).

The only issue I've had with him is that he can sometimes be slow at answering emails, other than that I'm very satisfied (you saw how well the 750 was running on Monday ;D) with the work he did and he is currently working on the 900.

I'll PM you his contact info.

G's 620 is with Mike.  He may stop into the DMF and talk tech a bit.   ;D

That would be great if he does. I emailed him tonight to see about having him take a peek at my poor 620's shifting problem.

i think I know who this guy is, and if someone would shoot me his number or email I would really appreciate it, because i won't go to Speed's, and Battley and Ducpond and basically everyone else is pretty far from me.  i might try Alex at RAM cycles, but i'm kind of price sensitive right now, so this guy might be my best bet.

Thanks!

I've had three calls from Mike in as many days (and a few texts).   sorry some folks haven't been getting the same promptness.

I agree with Statler! I emailed Mike late Sunday night, talked to him by phone yesterday and dropped my bike off today. When I talked to him today, he suggested the easiest way to get in touch with him was by email or in the evening if phoning.

Guys...feel free to Email me, or PM with questions. I'll do my best to talk you through them, but i can't always figure things out without seeing it for myself.  I'm going to make it a point to try to check in daily (unless i'm out of town racing or something), but i won't be absent for too long. I'm going to try my hardest to be an active member of this forum and this community!  As far as side work goes, i'm doing my best to do what i can, but i'm not sure how long i'll be able to continue doing some of the larger services on the side(i'm working at a shop again, and i gotta go through "the man") On the brighter side of things though, our shop labor rates are about as low as you can find ($80/hr) and we are going to strive to offer parts below retail! (Unfortunatley, this doesn't include ducati parts! haha)

Oh guys...BTW...the returning calls thing. Yeah, i'm bad at that. I have a bad habit of listening to my voicemail (while i'm up to my elbows in grease or dirt....I do archertural landscaping too!).  Then my voicemail clears my inbox every 5 days.  Best way to reach me is via email (motox79@hotmail.com) sorry to those i have pissed off! But now you can PM me here too (c'mon guys...show me some luvin!)

Your OK with me Mike. Now if you can supply mount and balance a Metzler Roadtec Z6 on my buddiy Stefan's VFR rim for less than 200 bucks I'd love you even more (but not in a gay way). I gotta pay him back for all the seat time i've been doing on it while I wait for the parts to fix my ST.
