Title: Yuus Diet Gear sale - locals first!
Post by: Slide Panda on May 20, 2008, 07:23:11 PM
Time to clean out the closet.  Got a few items that don't fit quite right since I've shrunk a bit.  If you want photos, just let me know an email and I will provide, since the new board doesn't have a gallery running yet.
- so up for grabs we have:

Cortech HRX Jacket - Size XL, Black

Performance cut shell incorporates Brazilian leather elbow and shoulder impact panels. Includes hard molded; external shoulder protectors with ventilation scoops. External padded back panels provide added protection. Stretch material under the arms for a performance fit. Removable; CE-approved elbow; shoulder and back protectors. Includes Cortech's removable liner; zippered hand pockets; internal mobile phone & pouch pockets.

    * Performance cut, Armor-Link 3 mesh, 600 Denier Carbolex and 1680 Denier Ballistic Polyester shell incorporates Brazilian leather elbow and shoulder impact panels
    * The mandarin style collar features a soft neoprene trim
    * Hard molded, external shoulder protectors with ventilation scoops
    * External padded back panels provide added protection
    * Stretch material under the arms for a performance fit
    * Pre-curved and rotated sleeves increase comfort and performance in the riding position
    * Reflective sleeve and back piping increase nighttime visibility
    * Washable Brazilian leather cuff trim is soft yet durable
    * Removable, CE-approved elbow, shoulder and back protectors
    * Includes Cortech's removable, Two-Stage AquaTherm® liner. The first stage is a waterproof and windproof liner and the insulated second stage can be easily added for increased warmth
    * Zippered hand pockets, internal mobile phone and pouch pockets
    * Adjustable waist belts, with TPR pulls help fine tune the fit.
    * Includes a 21” and 8” jacket/pant zipper attachment with the pant sides included

- Some of the dye from the elbow leather leeched into the white mesh on the sleeves after a wet ride.  It's not bad, but it's not show room perfect.  Probably could rinse out, I just never bothered.
- Price $100

Cortech Apex Air - perf'ed leather pants.  Size M/34 , Black

    * Constructed with a combination fo perforated and non-perforated Top Grain, Grade-A Aniline Drum Dyed leather construction (1.2-1.3mm).
    * Stitched with high strength 6 ply bonded nylon thread.
    * Removable, CE approved knee and hip armor.
    * External foam hip pads for additional protection.
    * Pre-curved design for extra comfort in the riding position.
    * Accordion style expansion panels at the rear waist for increased flexibility.
    * Schoeller Keprotec stretch panels in the crotch for ease of movement.
    * Velcro knee patch for slider attachment.
    * Two layers of leather in seat area for durability.
    * YKK zippered hand pockets feature a mesh liner, and double as vents.
    * Dual stretch panel waist and YKK zippered, two-snap fly for a tailored fit.
    * Soft, mesh inner lining for comfort.
    * Full circumference jacket zipper attachment.
    * Molded TPR zipper pulls for ease of operation.

- The zipper pull on the right calf close has come off.  The zipper works fine though.  Besides that, the pants are practically new with only a couple rides on them

Two questions for you...1.  Do the pants have any give?...I am a 35ish...  2.  Is the jacket more of a winter or summer jacket?
Thanks,
Chuck

The pants have elastic in the band so there's some give and they are really more like a 35 than a 34 anyways.

The Jacket - I'm guessing you mean the cortech one
I'd say it's a 3 season, spring-fall.  With the liners in it's quite windproof and warm.  The outerliner is water proof also, so it'll keep you dry - though the exterior of the jacket is going to be wet.

Once you remove the liners, it's quite cool.  The majority of the chest is mesh and there's mesh in the sleeves.  Also the should pad air-rams really do work - I thought it was just a gimmick when I bought it.

Woth the dual liners I was able to use it on days that started cool and got pretty hot by having the windproof liner in at first then removing it when it got hot.

The grey on the chest and arms in the photo is mesh

That the info you're looking for?

Yes and no...The pants were right, easy enough...but I was actually talking about the rocket jacket...but you may have sold me with your description of the Cortech, my concern is the size...XL tends to be snug in the chest.

Cortech is an American company, so they cut a little more generously.  Right now, Rod has 1st dibs on the jackets - trying to work a meet up tomorrow

The Joe Rocket Jacket is a summer jacket.  Think 100% perforated leather... but not leather

Got other plans on the hook for this evening.  Then Rod get's his shot.  IF he's not interested the next step of the plan is to bring stuff to Rhodes... Or if you're really hot to check the stuff out - I'll be around this weekend too.,

Ok, Rod is coming to look at the Joe Rocket - so it seems that the Cortech is still up for grabs.

The Cortech is pretty generous in the body.  When I got it I was 10-15 pounds heavier at 5'11 and hovering around the mid 190's.  I've never been chesty, but I got the wide back, big shoulders and arms which makes things tough to fit.  That jacket fit me fine w/o liners or with the wind liner in.  The padding in the insulated liner added some bulk which made it snug in the arms for me - but ok in the body.

Let me know if you want to come check it out before wednesday - otherwise I'll plan on brining stuff next week to Rhodes.

Time to come to jebus... if you want the gear, get on the horse.  A rock just smashed up my rear hugger and selling this gear off will get me a new one.
