Title: rearstand didnt work
Post by: JEDI PIMP on July 17, 2009, 04:11:34 PM
Will a 1098 rearstand work on a 2006 S2R?
Got a line on one and just want to check it out first.
It is the grey ducati made stand.
Thanks in advance.
   Alex :)

Depends on what side they go on. The open wheel side uses a larger pin than the swingarm side, just like the S*R...

I like Pit Bull stands but the posts about pin size difference are correct.

Reversible model.

Bought it and it will not fit.
Its Ducati Part Number 96757207BA
The pin is too large.
Shit. anyone with a 1098 need a stand?

I wish I'd have seen this yesterday.  :-\ The 1098/1198 pin is larger...the 848 is the same as all other Ducati SSS models.

I don't see how the 848 and the 1098 are different pin sizes. Everything I have read says they are the same. The stand I have is a reversible and has 2 pins. One for the wheel side and one for the swingarm side...

Sorry dude.

That's what I was thinking when i read this thread, but i wasn't 100% positive, so I didn't say anything.   :-\

I think the 1098 uses the same stand as the MVs = LARGE PIN.

What stand is it?  Can you just change the pin to the correct one?

They're different.  Checkout the rear sprocket carriers.  The 848 is using the cast 5 bolt carrier like the s#r, and the 1098 is using the fancy billet 6 bolt carrier.

Also, if you shop for rear axle sliders (e.g. speedymoto), the 1098 has a part number all it's own.

Is it a removable pin? If so, you should just be able to get the proper pin.

Sorry man, I swore they were the same...
