Title: Ok tivo gods..help me out
Post by: brix821 on July 19, 2009, 12:39:12 PM
I just switched to Verizon FIOS, while I enjoy the expanded line up i am having problems hooking up my tivo.  I only have coax, rca, and s video cables for the job, and frankly this is the first time i have been stumped by hooking up home electronics.  As it stands now I have the cable coming in to the FIOS STB. From there I have the cable split with one side going to the ANT hook up on the tv and the other going to the tivos rf in.  Next i have rf out going to the cable input on the tv as well as rca/s video out from tivo and into the tv.  Help a brother out!

old standalone tivo?

if so, you should upgrade to a series3 or a tivo-hd. no verizon stb needed AND you get dual tuners.

you are just the man I was looking for. I have a series 2 Humax tivo with a dvd burner.  I would love to upgrade, but I still have a for life contract with tivo. The kicker is that I broke my usb to ethernet adapter that I use to update on my home network.  Does my wriring sound right to you?

can the s2 decode "raw" fios cable without cablecards? if not, your dual-tuner functionality is going to be limited.

at most, one of your tuners will only be able to record "basic" cable.

other than that, it seems that cable arrangement should work.
