Title: flat orange monster? Post by: ToyDragon on July 20, 2009, 02:36:06 PM Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes anyway.
Once I get my bike back from service I'm planning on having it painted, was thinking I'd do the front fender and seat cowl in flat black and the tank in a nice flat pumpkin orange with a black "DUCATI" on the side. Could have sworn I saw a similar paint scheme somewhere and was wondering if anyone could photoshop it out for me (my photoshop skills are sub-par at best) or point me in the direction of a similar look. The reason I'm doing the front fender and seat cowl in flat black is because I actually have two tanks and figured if I ever get board of the orange I could swap to my black tank. Thanks in advance for any help. :) Title: Re: flat orange monster? That's some beautiful paint. [thumbsup] LA Title: Re: flat orange monster? Post by: Jarvicious on July 20, 2009, 05:41:44 PM I dig Bun bun's new paint, but his is more of a Creamsicle color than pumpkin. Yours would be much deeper and look like the pics of his before the clear.

The paint I used looks different in sunlight than it does in shadow. The clear mitigates that somewhat. Maybe a darker paint would be less changeable. Here's a couple of pics that illustrate the difference. Beautiful paint job! Love the orange. I want to do something similar only darker and flat instead of shiny, I definitely dig that color in the shade. I'm still looking for that "perfect" color so it might be a while before I have mine painted. But I've got two tanks so definitely going to take advantage of my options. Raux, the flat red is very nice as well. I see so many shiny red monsters it didn't even occur to me to look into a flat red. |
