Title: Dyno runs: Full Zards, Open Airbox, PCIII USB on an S2R1k Post by: FastAndLight on July 21, 2009, 06:22:36 PM When I posted some pics of my bike a couple people asked about the dyno runs, etc.
Here is what I had done to my bike. I had MonsterMash reflash the ECU to eliminate the O2 sensor and to try and get it close to running well with the full Zard system and the open airbox. I think overall he did a pretty good job, from looking at the charts. The shop then installed the PCIII USB that is meant for the S2R (800) and developed a custom map. Here are the relevant charts: The Blue is the baseline and Red is the custom map Torque vs RPM (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/8885/torquerpmgraph.jpg) HP vs RPM (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7086/hprpmgraph.jpg) Air Fuel Ratio vs RPM (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/9804/airfuelrpmgraph.jpg) Title: Re: Dyno runs: Full Zards, Open Airbox, PCIII USB on an S2R1k Post by: Heath on July 21, 2009, 06:51:46 PM Any charts from before the zards?

The bike was completely stock, except for the remapped ECU, but it would be nice to see what difference just the ECU made.
Looking at the whole thing, I wouldn't necessarily say that the PC was worth it, especially since the bike takes a bit longer to start now and I think MonsterMash could have fixed the one minor issue issue at ~3200 RPM. However, that is money already spent and not getting back now... That doesn't surprise me, as the bike doesn't feel any faster, it just sounds better to me and I like the look of the Zards much better as well. I don't know how much more tuning potential there is for additional power left in my bike without additional modifications. Can someone more experienced shed some light on that? my dyno stats were pretty much 85hp 64tq. the DPECU on the S2r1k arent known to make insane power gains like a 4v just make it really smooth. it looks like the DPECU did make your curve really smooth. |
