How much more louder does it make the bike???? i'm thinking I would like this on my M750, but want to know the opinions first on this exhaust.
Have seen lots of pics on here with guys with this type of exhaust.
Compared to stock it DOES make it louder but it doesn't give you the loud roar you get from Termis or arrows. I sacrificed the roar of my Termis for the clean lines and allows the exposure of the rear wheel. Soundwise I give it a 7 out of 10. the kit also comes with a db killer - basically a screw off/on replacement cap for the top pipe.

Change your turn signals already [laugh]
From someone who says "I'm keeping it stock" [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
After I added the dual headlight that mod is a must.

It does? They must have changed it since I got mine.
It's not that loud. Compared to the Termis on my 900SS, the Ex-Box is positively quiet.
BoomTubes from MotoCreations is another exhaust setup that is simple and keeps the rear wheel open/clean/etc...

Are these just open pipes, or is there something to quite them down a little.. I pulled the cans on my bike and with the open pipe it sounds way to loud and well kind crappy... I love the look of this but just would not want an open pipe.
Motocreations offers baffle setups for their exhausts. So no they don't just offer open pipes, you can order them with different levels of baffles.

I like the look of the Ex-box with those billet ends. Is that a new design or did you add/make them yourself?
the ex box is way louder than stock.
but no where near as loud as running with just the udder, or straight pipes.
no FHE with the sound of the termi's
People have disagreed with me/ agreed with me. Im still going to say it.
Open Udder and Ex-Box doesnt sound that much different.
How do I know? i ran open udders and my friends 695 ran with exbox. We've been riding together for almost 2/3 years (sold his 695 last year)

I'm going to agree with He Man as i own an Ex-box. I ran the bike w/o the udder for a few minutes before we installed the ex-box. They are SIMILAR but different. The udder is louder and has a different "tone." The arrows are STUPID LOUD w/o baffles (i heard them up close) and the termi's look awful on the bike imo.
I love the ex-box but only because i got a brand new one on sale for $700 + shipping. I don't feel they are worth the brand new in box price.

i disagree with you completely..
because i dont think you can judge unless you have run with both, and i ran an open udder for almost 4k before i got an ex box. the difference is dramatic. with the open udder, i would have a stunned feeling at the end of a long ride, as the sound level was just too much. with the ex box, its still very loud, but the long term effect is no where near as bad
m just talking about the overall sound, not how loud it is. the udder defintely gets your head ringing more.
ive had both bikes next to each other just idling, you can tell the difference if your ear is tuned to it. But it aint much of a difference.
I also ran open udder and replaced it with the Ex-Box.
Open udder = Stupid loud and ringing in my ears post ride for 24 hrs without earplugs.
Ex-Box = Loud but not stupid loud and no real need for earplugs.

That's demonstrating a serious misunderstanding about the typical causes of hearing loss for motorcyclists. It's as much the wind noise as it is exhaust noise. There's a good thread here:
