If anyone would like to join us for some riding or recommend some roads, that would be great! If anyone also has suggestions for a place to spend the night near the Gap or has a warm floor that they might offer up to a few weary Ducatisti travelers, that would be equally awesome!

Wow, that's quite a trip  ;)  Should be an adventure.  Before I read this I was just fantasizing about  a trip to the gap, unfortunately there's just no way I can fit it in.  I would love to meet some fellow monster riders (although technically I'm a former monster rider) but I'll be headed to Atlanta next weekend. As far as a place to stay near Deal's Gap, there are quite a few motels and campgrounds around.  I've always enjoyed this little place http://www.tuskeegeemotel.com/ (http://www.tuskeegeemotel.com/) Its not the closest one to the dragon but its not far and reasonably priced.  And as for the roads, Its cool to ride the Dragon (US 129) for the experience but there are tons of other great roads around that area with less traffic. Pompetta, we'll be coming through on Sunday, August 2nd? I think its the 2nd. anyway, not this weekend but the next. I'll pm for sure if we drift that way but not too sure if we will.
