5/5 - 695 dark -  all stock with a Utah license plate.  I saw you parked outside of Starbucks in the Cheviot Hills parking lot on National.

I see that guy all the time too.

Today on the 10W @ Crenshaw about 8:30am

All last week in Hollywood on Yucca around Argyle- white 848.. parked on the sidewalk.

Then on Saturday, same 848 e/b Hollywood Blvd past the 101..

I was w/b on the Slvr/Blk S2r1K

5/5 11am.  two Dark monsters (620s i think) lane splitting the I-5 south near Commerce(traffic was moving at +70mph!)  Both had Leo Vince pipes.  I wasn't on my monster, but hearing them grumbling by made me instantly jealous.

Today @ 5:15 pm in whittier. Red s2r 800- tail chop and arrow pipes- turning e/b Cullen from Colima...

I gave you the  [thumbsup] from the blk Tahoe (wifes cage and troop hauler).

Sunday 10:30 AM Three HyperMotards (one riding 2 up) and an ST? (all red) at Spring and New LA Avenue in Moorpark

Saturday (6/28) around 3:00.  Saw your gunmetal gray monster with red wheels parked all by it's lonesome in Camarillo outskirts on Las Posas bet. Cawelti and Pt. Hueneme.  As I went back to see why a duc would be parked in the middle of nowhere, saw you and your buddy appear from a truck with gas for the bike!   ;)  Been there, done that.  Thanks for the  [thumbsup] as you passed me at the light as I figured you were alright then so I left.  Nice tennies, by the way!   ;D

Last weekend (forgot what day, sorry) on 2nd St. in Naples (Long Beach, near Belmont Shore)- red M900 I swore was mine for a second. Parked outside of the new Michael's restaurant. Yesterday- red 996 on Westminster Blvd.

Desmosedicci on arrow hwy turning left onto barranca in Covina 12 noon.  Dude had a t-shirt on.  That thing sounded mean. I knew instantly it was the real deal.

7/1/08 I saw a guy on what seemed to be a gray s4r heading east on Sherman Way.  I was headed the opposite direction to Church's Chicken. 

7/2/08 I saw another gray monster in Hollywood late at night, forgot what street I was on though.

Saw a mean sounding monster today on sunset and vine at 2 p.m. right in front of the Ricardo theatre.

BD, I don't think Bruce has a snazzy blue leather jacket and rides with tennies.   8) 

Yesterday, (Sunday, 7/6) spotted a couple of Ducs, a Hypermotard and a dark monster, having a chat with a couple of  [leo] on the side of the 101 near Lynn Road in TO around 3:30 pm.  Didn't look like a party I wanted to crash!   [roll]

Monday 7/7 saw a dark monster and I *think* an R6 at a Starbucks on Ventura Blvd in Encino.

Might have been the same jeans and t-shirt guy I saw, all he was missing was the sandals.

Today 7/14 8:20am, black and orange heading east on the 91, I was westbound. Might have been the same bike I saw bout a month ago on 14th and brockton with an udder only exhaust.

Sunday afternoon I saw a guy and a gal, both on monsters in Torrance riding north (or was it south?) on Hawthorne at the South Bay Galleria. Gal was on a red 696 with black gear and a blonde/brunette pony tail. Guy I don't remember. This was around 7pm.

Red s2r on Westminster Blvd & PCH on 7/17 around 8:30 am. Ducati jacket. I was on mine too.... so I guess no one from here?  [cheeky]

7:30pm tonight (7/20) on the 405N by the 710 junction. I was cruising the #3 lane at 70mph and you passed me on the right on a red monster with classic (two line) letters. Looked like an Asian girl. Black leathers and a green backpack that looked pretty stuffed. Your eyes looked like you were smiling as you passed me. I was on my red monster with a red and black jacket.

^^^ OH MY GOSH!!!! That was me! *waves again* And no, I'm pretty small, but not Asian.  (I'm an pale redheaded girl  [thumbsup])   I was late to work, could you tell?  [cheeky]  I was pretty damn excited to see another red M900!  I thought about this thread immediately. ha.

Saw a pretty blonde girl riding a dark monster down piuma road and then onto las virgenes.  She passed by as I was waiting for a truck to get my friend's downed bike at the crest of piuma.

Haha. Actually I was following my GF at the time otherwise I woulda sped up and tagged along for a little way.  ;D


I didn't keep up with the old sightings thread a whole lot but I don't remember many of us actually seeing anyone else from the board. Most of the time it's an unanswered sighting. Good to see another board member on the road!  [thumbsup] Every time I see another monster on the road I note the bike, gear, time and location but always forget to post.  [roll]

Yesterday, Monday (7/21), Riverside. Mostly stock looking S2R Dark goin East on Arlington, past Brockton.

Today, Tuesday 7/22, Santa Ana. Silver S2R w/ black frame parked on the sidewalk outside the Ralphs on MacArthur and Fairview around 1:10pm.

You sure it wasn't a 695? I ride around downtown riverside almost every day for school. Eh.

I'm pretty sure I saw a single sided swingarm. The person I saw had pretty much no gear except a helmet.

Today at 8:30am...Pennsylvania and Altura in La Crescenta.  Black S4R??? Maybe an S4rS - you live like 3 blocks away from my house!

Sat. 7/26 2:40 P.M. South bound 405 @ Rosecrans ave.  Red Monster...... didn't see too much detail or wave as I was busy dodging a mini van who came accross 3 lanes to try & exit @ Rosecrans [bang]

Friday - Sunset junction in front of Intelligensia.  Yellow Monster with red flames. I've seen it here before, cool bike!

On my way home, saw a guy on an Silver 800, full Ti Arrows, tail chop....I pulled over at the exit of Pennsylvania but he didn't  [laugh]

I was the guy on the PEARL (not pear)  white S4Rs  [thumbsup]

Wednesday, 7/29...  5 pm?  2 red monsters on 2nd st. in Belmont Shore/Naples... both within 2 minutes of each other.

Huntington Beach, Main St.- 7/29- 7:30 pm... black/silver s2r (i think).. very pretty, I believe the owner was a latino guy, stretched ears, drinking something at jamba juice? 

Cool, nice to know there monsters in my hood. Do attend any of the local functions?

sunday 8/3, saw a gray monster leaving the parking lot of neptune's net.  i was there on a red s4r parked next to a yellow 1098 and a blue zx-10.

Today, on a 695, red and black. In riverside/corona right by the dam.

was anyone here at the crest today (sunday)?  saw a couple 696s in the parking lot at the restaurant and had a short chat with someone on a black s4r(s)  that tailed us up the road.

Either that or you were broken down cuz I saw him actually ahead of you on the side of the road, then reversed it and peeled out in the shoulder...you were off your bike already...

Looked like a red S2R on the 57 North a bit before the 91 at 10:30pm. You were wearing a black Ducati or Ducatista textile jacket. I could hardly see you. You need some reflective strips for the shoulders or back of your helmet. I was in my truck with the bike on the back.

what night was that?

edit:  I ask because that might've been me (if it was wednesday) and it concerns me that the jacket I had on was not reflective at all, because it's supposed to be.

then @ 3:00, on Sunset a black w/ orange monster riding with another girl on a Sportser.

Two ducs within 5 minutes of each other last night (10/21) on Lakewood Blvd. right by the traffic circle... one looked like a supersport & the other was a Breil SBK.  Veddy nice.  [thumbsup]

Saw a red S2R on the crest this morning as I headed down the hill, was with two FZ1s.  Was this Jason?

10/30 ~3:30PM @ Eastbound Grand Ave right after the 71 exit.

I was on my Black M696, you were on a Black 749 just getting off the 71 Northbound.  I left some space in the lane at a red light so you could pull up and we could check out each others' bikes.  The light turned green as you pulled up and you let out the clutch too soon.  Stall.  I'm guessing out of humiliation you didn't try catching up to me at the next light.

Thurday,  11/20...   Driving down Santa Susana Pass in the Bus, and saw two monsters coming uo the other way.  An overly-enthusiastic wave on my part,  and two thumbs ups from them.  [thumbsup]  [thumbsup] 

Turns out to be Duck-Stew and River.  Yay!   [moto]

i was actually there visiting family this past weekend (saturday also).  but i was on a red s4r.

saw a lot of monsters this weekend.  i believe it was a tricolore heading northbound on the 5 fwy on saturday.  then i saw a few on sunday in the canyons.  black s4rs w/ stock cans, red s4r(s?) with termis, and i think it was an s2r at the rock store.  couple more in the twisties but i was too preoccupied to see what kinds.

Saw a red S*R going N on the 55 and exit onto McArthur Saturday afternoon. Black leather jacket and black lid. Is that anybody (here)?

Today 91 East at McKinley black S*R w/gold forks. Around 4:45p

Saw Josiah and Courtney turning onto Mulholland Hwy today! I was breakin in the new scoot... Kawi Concours (Blk)...  [moto]

saw a couple monsters at the crest this past sunday.  s4rs at the cafe with termis, looked like an asian guy.  then a pearl white 696 with arrows parked next to me.  saw some other ducs, red 1098 and a xerox 999 on the move too.

Yeah I rode my monster up ACH that morning and saw the 2 asian folks on the ducati's.

Couldnt believe my eyes as a dude walks out of the Kragen autoparts, stuffs some bottles in his jacket and hops on his Desmosedici!!!... and rides off..

After watching him ride off, I think I need to take his bike out for him ........... just once [laugh]

having that thing blow by you on the front straight @ willow will cause you to forget what you're doing

The sound of that bike is utterly intoxicating..........!!!!!

Today @ 12:50pm. White monster w/ a red stripe and gold frame heading west on the 210 by the Baseline exit in Claremont. Rider was wearing black and red leathers w/ a black backpack and black helmet.

Red 696 parked in a lot on Hampshire road in Thousand Oaks at 5:30 today.

are you at csulb? or just the motorcycle?  there are a few monsters currently parking @ csulb...  an older grey monster, a red (750?) monster, mine, and a black one I saw a bit ago....  haven't seen the s4r yet.

M900D (I think) at the 'Lookout point' on Mulholland this morning around 9:30am riding with a guy on a hot-rodded Honda Hawk.  CF low pipes, and the 'Alien eyes' rear-turn signal tray.

Me?  Green M900 riding with a red M750 and a red M620 w/black striping.

Yes at CSULB but currently riding a scooter to class- blue Aprillia Scarabeo.

There are a few S*Rs that park at upper campus (by PSY bldg) along with a couple 748/996/998s I think. I have seen two older style monsters (red and grey) up there. I think I saw a 696 last week up there too.

Lower campus (by GYM) usually has a yellow 748, have not seen any others on lower.

I never check out the parking structure so I dont know of any over there.

3:24pm today. 695 dark parked outside the Supercuts at the Market (Irvine side by Target.) I was wandering around looking for the Sears but couldn't find it.  [roll]

Lol, I was getting off the freeway to cut from the 5 to the 405 and saw someone with a sign saying that the Sears was closing and decided to look for something for my dad's birthday. I don't know the area and I couldn't find the Sears from Jamboree.  [roll]

Unable to find Sears today, will resume search tomorrow.  [laugh] [laugh]

3/17/09. Older monster with red tank heading west on Faraday Road in Carlsbad around 5 pm.

3/22/09: Dark Monster on Bankers Hill one street over from Brant. Always parked outside.
3/24/09. Downtown San Diego, Firehouse on 8th and J. Yellow monster inside!

Tuesday morning in Brea, South bound Associated, heading toward Imperial.

i have read this post from beginning to end and there has only been 2 sightings acknowledgements.
i don't read this post in hopes of being seen i live 120 miles away, although now that its getting warmer ill be frequenting Glendale ( home base when i come south ) to ride mullholland topanga kanan and such
i read it with anticipatory anxiety waiting for  a " WOO HOO That was me !!! "

Black monster w/ a tank bag. You were going up the hill for GMR from the Baldy side with a little red Suzuki behind you at about 10:45am.  I was on my way down to go up Baldy on my red monster. I was riding with a friend that was on an orange K1300 BMW.

Wow haven't been here in a while. Nice to be spotted actually riding though.

I remember that day because of all the crashes.

I think we were on the Baldy side of GMR while he was taking pictures so he didn't get any of my friend and I. Oh well. I can't even tell which turn he was in by looking at the photos. You guys get parking tickets for scooters at CSULB? At Cal Poly they towed scoots (picked them up and put them on a flat bed) and only ticketed bikes.  :-X

Aw, i would love to but my little sister is visiting me from NY that weekend (I'm from Rochester). If only she had her bike out here... she's 18 and rides a ninja 250...  ah well. But some other time, definitely! 

As to the mods- the bike had some when I got her a year and a half ago... had her shipped from Rhode Island. The previous owner had done a tail chop, put on arrow exhausts, installed a sargeant seat, different clutch cover... umm...  a few other things. I took off the windscreen, repainted it, new logos, different grips, CRG levers, dual headlights, lanesplit mirror, and shaved the seat so I could touch the ground. hahaha.  What about yours?

And I'm glad CSULB doesn't tow scoots like cal poly, that's not cool!

Well, I've done a few things but nothing compared to some of the members on here.. custom tail/headlight bracket/exhaust chop, speedymoto clutch cover/pressure plate, stm clutch slave, pazzo levers, full termi w/ecu and pc3, flipped bars, lanesplit mirror, ohlins damper.. I think thats it.. I'm planning on getting a simple paint job and getting rid of the race stripe eventually. That's about it, I think..

I think you guys passed me and my cruiser buddy going East on Ortega around 9 or so.

That's about the time we were there....

last saturday afternoon...  new-looking red monster (696?) with windshield on pch and laguna canyon rd...

Last night around 5:45 I'm in my truck on Bronson, North of Hollywood Blvd, heading North.  I pass the Scientology Celebrity Center on my left and see a woman on an S2R with a white helmet waiting to leave the SCC parking lot.  I pull up to the light at Franklin and stop, happy that I'm first in line and don't have to wait behind someone turning left (the intersection is a pregnant dog to navigate).

The woman pulls up beside me on the right and then in front of me and stops in the crosswalk area and turns on her left turn signal!   [bang]

The light turns green, and since the oncoming traffic hasn't even got to the intersection yet the She-Monster rider could have made the turn right away and I could have proceeded unhampered.

But no.  She sits there, and sits there, and sits there.   >:(

Is it just me, or is there some type of unwritten rule that if you lane split to the front of the line at a red light you shouldn't then hamper the abilitly of those behind you to proceed once the light is green?

Undoubtedly a new rider (I hope).  And please don't think I'm down on gal riders.  I've been a big advocate of gals riding their own bikes ever since I went monoposto back in the 80s.  I've always LIKED ladies.   ;D  And I've always liked riding without a passenger.  Therefore I've always thought MORE ladies with their own bikes is a good thing.  Though it didn't seem to popular with those in the Harley crowd I knew 20 years ago.

Since getting married in June to a woman who doesn't ride, but is hesitantly opening up to the idea of even BEING on a bike, the seat cowl has come off and the rear pegs have gone back on.

^ congrats on your marriage! of COURse more women should ride! unfortunately, prevailing norms tell them they can't/they'll hurt themselves/they don't have the balls/dexterity/who knows what. I think a lot of women believe riding a motorcycle actually requires some sort of strength... or perhaps they're just scared off by the fact that it remains a very male-dominated sport/recreation/mode of transport.

Either way, I still get WAY overly excited when I see a woman on a sportbike (after 3 years of riding) and still nearly fall off my bike waving.

9/7 (today) around 15:30 on Lincoln headed westbound toward the PCH South ramp at a stop light.  Filtered up through traffic.

Two S*Rs, one silver w/ red frame and one black.  The dude on the silver was wearing camo pants.  I was alone and heading home, but looked like those two were on their way to have some fun!

Also, saw a monster at like 5 AM piloting through the Gaslamp eastbound on Island; I was on my way to Fit.

On my way back from Modesto saw a 620 dark at the Magic Mtn exit. Looked like a Chica was riding it.

Today, tuesday (12-1-09). Red monster with no front fairing and bar end mirrors.
It was at top speed... In the back of a red dodge ram, westbound on the 210 in pasadena.

yikes, glad you're ok!!!

Most of the damage is to my ego.  The bike got away with just a few scratches to the bar ends and mirror.  My brake pedal is bent but I was still able to put the shiny side up and ride it home (last thing I wanted to do was call the wife for a ride  :o ).  Frame sliders work!  I never wanted to try them out but they work. 

Question for everyone:  Do I leave it scratched as a reminder or replace the parts (brake lever & pedal, mirror...)?

If the bike is safe for you to operate, I would leave it until you have extra cash/time to fix/replace parts.  If it hurts you more to see your baby scraped up than it did to fall.. I'd fix it up as soon as possible!   ;)

I'm down in the Long Beach/Huntington area to visit some friends and I was on Warner (I think) when I came across three bikes pulled over by the man.  Two gsxrcbxzx10 whatevers and one desmosedici.  At just notice one guy gesturing to the police like he was trying to explain something.  Then noticed the desmo and almost went off the road. Hope it worked out for those three.

Thursday late morning, 2001(??) 1000 Monster parked at the Santa Paula Oil Museum.  Was with other bikes but he happened to be sitting out next to his bike.  Pulled over to chat...fellow is from Pasadena and wasnt aware of this forum so I gave him the pitch =)  Turns out his wife rides a yellow S2R 800.  His group was on the way up to Seca.

Great ride! 250 miles of mostly twisties. I learned that I really need to start hanging off more or I will be scraping hard bits.  :-\  Time to start practicing getting my ass off of the saddle more.

Not bad. My first run on the twisties after not riding for 2 months. The ride south on the 33 felt kinda off but the run north with the OC Moto guys was good. I got really sleepy on the ride home though.

I'm like you and need to move my ass too. I like to stay planted but a couple turns I had an oh shit moment and had to scoot over mid turn to get more lean.

Ya, we met at Eggs-n-Things for [bacon] (and some eggs, Italian sausage, chorizo...)

Sac had been up the 33 for the first time a coupla weeks ago, so I decided to introduce him to Cerro Noroeste and Lockwood Valley Rd.  [evil]

As we turned left off of Mil Potrero Rd onto Cuddy Valley Rd, the view was absolutely gobsmacking!

 Lockwood was a little bumpier than I remembered, and there's still that 10 yard wide gravel trap across both lanes.  Luckily it's at a slow section, so it was easy enough to get the bikes stopped in time to get across the gravel.  :o

I was following Carl down the steep twisties right before the Ranger Station and he was moving! [thumbsup]  He had some nice lines and was leaned over so far, I couldn't believe toes, pegs, and pipes weren't scraping!  [moto]  I think my favorite part was following him through this 200 degree left-hand sweeper...  In the turnout there were 20 or so Harleys parked and the riders were just gawking has we blew by!  [evil]

I love that turn!

Funny right! I see so many Monsters on the streets but you're right, no one I see must be on the DMF.

I ride Melrose a lot, I keep my eye out for you but obviously we miss each other. If you're ever in the mood to go on a ride let me know. I have only gone on a couple rides since you and I went with Bacon, sadly i've just been commuting.

Oh, and I've been down twice so the bike is no longer dark. I've got a fresco green tank now. Looks really good, I like it a lot more than the dark.

Black monster on the 405N at about 1:00pm yesterday. He was in the #2 lane while I was in carpool I waved as I passed and he came over to the carpool to give a thumbs up. He followed me for a little bit before passing me and jumping off around the 90.

This afternoon, just before 4PM, on the 210 in LaCanada at Foothill...696 0r 1100 heading south/east.  I was on my S2R 800 heading north/west.

Didn't ride this week, doing maintenance.  Will be riding next week though.

Friday, June 17 around 2:00pm I saw a red monster with a white stripe tanking up at the 76? on Bristol just south of the 405. I was making the left onto Paularino to go to Mitsuwa and reved the bike a bit to get you to look up and wave hi.

Oh, and today, well yesterday, Saturday the 18th I saw a red monster and rider decked out in black and white Ducati leathers at the stoplight at Mountain for the 210 onramp in Upland. I was with the family on our way to Knott's for lunch. I think this was around 1pm.

Today around 7am I saw what looked like a white Monster (new type) heading North on Rosemead in the El Monte area.

You live in Upland?  My mom lives just off Mountain and 20th.  And I think I have seen that bike in the area.

Just moved to San Diego two weeks ago, took a ride up the 101 yesterday (June 26)  Saw a white streetfighter in Carlsbad (i think) a Black w/red frame 796 heading south in Encinitas (I was on the other black/red 796 pulling out of Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill), and at least one other monster heading south near Oceanside I thnk..

I work in Carlsbad just East of Palomar Airport and every day I get to see a red and white 998 fly by me on Gateway Rd., well, I'm pretty sure it's a 998, it's usually moving at a pretty good clip and all I see are the rear shotgun double pipes as they zip away.

Just saw a silver monster today with a silver rear seat cowl...i want to say the driver was wearing a blue jacket?...whats with the blue jacket?? lol but i was on the 23 inbetween thousand oaks and moorpark headed towards moorpark...he was on the 23 headed towards the 101 on the other side!! nice to finally see one of my brethren other then a SS lol  [thumbsup]

The streetfighter might be a guy named Josh. We ride with him pretty often. Also have some people that have Monsters, 1098s, 848s, and SS who all ride pretty regulary in the North county.

Rode from LBC to Laguna Beach along PCH today, played cat and mouse with a new white monster w/ red frame, termis, double swingarm. On the way back, saw a yellow monster riding with a cbr(?), didn't get a good look at it.

Another white + red monster yesterday-  parked @ Bixby park in LB. We waved. I had the turquoise monster.

saw a red monster, newer style, cruising north on the 5 thru camp pendleton yesterday afternoon. Rider wearing a red and white jacket. I was heading south with the wife in our car.

It is an 01 M900ie Dark with Sargent seat, Arrow carbon high mount cans, Ventura rear rack, Moose Racing bark busters and a Pro-Taper handlebars and the old Suzuki cafe windscreen...it is my old bike that I gave to the ex wife in property settlement...I put almost 30,000 miles on it and miss it...I think she gave it to her BF or something after letting it sit and turn to ruin for almost 3 years...just want to kind of make sure the ole bike is okay.

Got back out to the Canyons for the first time since i got the bike put back together on saturday.... saw a black or dark monster on the PCH, it was going south as i was going north, and i saw an old guy on a red with white stripes monster coming through decker canyon....

Saw quite a few monsters on the PCH on Labor day....stopped at neptunes net with the old lady to grab some lunch and a bunch of monsters and a couple of other desmos rode in and parked...i recognized one of them from the forum, it was the one in the BOmb category the silver paint job red frame open clutch with a super big aftermarket radiator on the front of it! was very envious! great weather and a great ride!

Late model Monster, west bound on the 210 at Allen around 4:10 PM yesterday. Rider wearing black and white DUCATI jacket.

Would that happen to be in the Performance Bike parking lot on Arroyo Parkway? If it is, I think the owner works in the bike shop. I've seen a yellow monster out there numerous times.

I saw a red monster 696 i think last Wednesday july 18th around noon. it had a nice set of leo vince cans and was headed east over ortega to lake elsinore. I was finishing up lunch at hells kitchen so I didn't get a chance to wave.

8/8 waiting at light to turn left into parking garage at 5th and flower. Glanced right and quickly needed a double take. Is that me in another dimension? Oh no, it's just another guy on a dark monster.

On the 5 Freeway on the way home, was passed by a rider in a modded Monster.  I think it was a 696 since it was white and had a black frame.  He gave a quick wave as he passed and I followed him pretty much the rest of the way back to Irvine on the 5.  Initially saw him entering Orange County from LA County.

Don't see too many other Monsters surprisingly even though I ride ~100 miles a day.

I do 57s5s to sand canyon in the morning, then the reverse.  we must just be missing each other.

Hi all!  Was out in LA for work and spotteed black on black Monster.  Rider was in black jacket with Black helmet over near Disney Symphony.  Just got a quick glance.

So who is moving from Oregon to sunny southern California? I just saw a newer black monster being trailered with a Harley on the 210 East by the Mountain off ramp in Upland. He was on the shoulder of the road and I let him get back into traffic in front of me and then waved as I took the Mountain exit and passed him. I was on my shiny new black trumpet wearing a black jacket and red backpack.

Coulda been me too! I commute past the symphony headed to the bofa building almost daily. If it was early morning (round 7/715) and headed west down Temple going past the LADWP building it was likely me.

My commuting has me on the bike a lot, plus with only seeing the kid every other weekend, my riding time is limited.
