No entry for my beloved Chromo!  :'(

I checked custom, cuz mine looks like a dark, but its actually satin black that matches my powder coated wheels... ;D

I think there's also a dark that has a matte silver tank.

Dark with silver frame and wheels like my '03 620, I know there are a couple on this board besides mine. I've seen pictures. ;D

Mine isn't on there.  It's called metallic black, but is really a gunmetal gray with black wheels and frame.  It is a factory color with original wheel and frame color.

so would this be called metallic black or gunmetal gray? i'll add it to the list!

When you set up the poll, there's an option for how many different votes each user gets which is immediately under the section where you specify the choices.  That isn't available to standard users as an editable option after you start the poll however.  A mod can change it for you if you ask them to though.


On an unrelated note, where's the "Dirt/Grime" color option?   :)

Nate has done my bike up in a black base with cobalt blue metallic at the lines so it has the effect of dark blue velvet (best way to describe it).  I originally marked down custom because it isn't like any other bike I've ever seen.

Dark is good because it's stealth.

Red is fastest, but I like not having to worry about scratches.

This is my beast. I rebuilt it from the ground up. Last year it took the award for the most stock Monster at Ducati in the Rockies. I don't think that'll happen this year!!!  ;D

Ok, so if DP says mine is "metallic black" what are the metal fleck blacks called?  Mine doesn't have the "metallic" badging.

It is probably just "metallic black".

In 2000 and 2001, Ducati offered the Monster 600, 750, and 900 as a "Metallic" model. According to the owners manual and the parts manual, there were several different colors in this funky color-scheme. They had colors such as "metallic blue", "metallic purple", "metallic grey", etc... I have no idea how to tell these colors apart, and they seem to be fairly rare (probably with good reason.  [laugh] ). I'm guessing that the color after the word "metallic" would be how the color looks in the shade. If this is the case, I'd say ours is "metallic grey". Without seeing the actual part number somewhere on the tank, I can't be sure. I have not removed the tank to check, but there are no part numbers listed within view when the tank is tilted up.

If anyone knows anything about these funky "metallic" colors, please enlighten me.

i can change the METALLIC BLACK to a broader METALLIC if that works for everyone.... lemme know  :)

Mine is a 1999 and is not part of the "metallic" offering.  I'm just going from what DP said Ducati called my paint color.  Any other insight?

There is a 2005 metallic 900 for sale (still new) from my local Duc dealer cheap!  $6800 with warrenty...but man it is ugly.  Super Sparkley Glitter-tastic Disco Fest.

Ducati had a black metallic from the early 90s. It was first seen on SS models, and used a fairly coarse metallic.

Later they changed the metallic size to fine and it was offered on Monsters. My 96 was black metallic when built. It almost looked grey in some light.

The metallics in 99 were a flake over different base colors and are an entirely different effect.

This is what the Ducati parts manual gives for ONLY the 2001 M900 Metallic ie models....

586.1.031.2AG - Grey
586.1.031.2AH - Black
586.1.031.2AL - Night Blue
586.1.031.2AM - Violet
586.1.031.2AN - Red
586.1.031.2AP - Blue

Issabella is black and most definatly metallic. The dealer that sold it to the man i bought it from said it was going to be a very rare color. Blah blah blah I just liked it and never seen another one. maybe i should stop riding it so that i don't damage it. (not likely)

Also there were two yellows used.  The yellow on the regular monsters, SS and SBKs is different from the one on the S2R, which was called "Acid Yellow".  It is brighter than the others.  Faster too.

Perhaps there should be "Black" vs. "Flat black (dark)" as that is a different colour code.

There were multiple metallic colours too, I've seen a metallic purple Monster.

I really like the badge. Did you order that from Austrailia? Thats the only place I've seen those for sale online but they were black and I couldnt get a measurement from those guys as to how big they were. Looks great on the bare tank like that.

Could you please post another pic. That angle is a bit limited I'd love to get a view from another angle.

Looks like the Matrix Green, but turns purple depending on the light.  I'm guessing it didn't come off the line like that.

Both my Monsters (94 & 09) are, you guessed it, RED. [beer]

I'll get a Ducati in a different color than black when they come out with a color darker than black.

Cromos are all of the above.  Even Toasty Colored.  As long as Toasty is right next to it.
