if the bike couldnt flip through some sort of device. enough power would translate from the brakes into the earth to throw it out of orbit.

isn't that just a picture of the Monster 696??

Mated with a Suzuki Burgman maybe.

I'd ride it.  But only if I had solid white racing leathers, white helmet with tinted visor, white gloves, and red Pumas.  Oh, I would also have to have a sound system that replayed Right Said Fred's, "I'm Too Sexy" over and over and over.........

Had no problem with the 696/1100.  Was into the Streetfighter.  The new multiwhatever isn't my thing, but I could see the purpose.  I could even deal with some sort of cruiser/chopper thing if they make it..........
That thing is on the other side of a line that I just can't cross.  [puke]

F-it. Build it. Every successful motorcycle company has their line of scooters. More cash and presence  = more R&D to help build better MotoGP/SBK bikes that will win races and help trickle down technology to make even better streebikes. It'll all come around.

that guy that does those... he makes a lot of assumptions all the time. draws them up and that one site picks them all up like they are gospel. it's like the national enquirer of motorcycles. don't believe the hype.

Actually Oberdan Bezzi is the guy with the best contacts to the manufactures , so I don't believe in his renderings, but the models he does images for.
Also I think a big scooter is exactly what Ducati should make...
Sells big time as a city and commuter bike.
And I would rather sit on something Ducati than anything else.
Think of all the beer you can buy and drive to the BBQ at the beach :)

Hey, if they would make in a 50cc version.  It would be the worlds coolest Liquor-sicle.  Advertise you DUI in style.

I would back a little 50-100cc scoot.  That would be fun.  That thing looks huge thou.

Ohlins and Monoblock brembos  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

If I only had $1 for everytime someone clicked on (and believed) the bull-shit jacked-up "Latest-Greatest" Ducati.

[puke]  oh man, right on my pants.

Yes, I absolutely believe with all of my soul that one of the most prestigious motorcycle manufacturers in the world is going to take all of their design elements and top shelf parts, and jam them into a scooter configuration.  [bang]
Scooter - maybe; the abortion in that picture - no.
If motorcycle daily is prepared to pay good money for artists impressions of Ducati scooters, sign me up!

^^^^^ Only if that exact emblem is etched into the frame.
There are some scoots out there that don't look half bad and I have no doubt that Ducati could pull something pretty sweet out of their ass, but not something that looks like a MTS boned a silverwing.

Really not tryin to post whore here, but I'm gonna throw the quote in here as well.

Diego Sgorbati, Ducati vice president of marketing in an interview with an Italian magazine.
"Ducati is looking at many segments, scooters, custom, enduro, off-road...it's a normal expansion," says Sgorbati. "Before going down one road though we look at all the potential barriers, technological and distribution related. For example, how many of our dealers can sell a superbike, as well as a motocross bike? Also, does it match the 'soul' of the brand, does it make sense? What worked 20 years ago might not make sense today. [The Ducati Vyper cruiser] in any kind of near future, yes, it's out. Maybe in 4-5 years we would look at the custom market to as well as other segments to see where we could expand."
Hopefully if the do go down the scooter road they stay far away from that rendering at the beginning of this thread.  Looks like you might be getting a call soon Roy. ;)

It must be because it looks a lot better than older Monsters.

but haven't they (ducati) also said that their core market is racing and bikes which embody that racing spirit?  or something.
maybe there's a scooter racing league I don't know about.
