Title: The Nuts and Bolts of Nuts
Post by: bdfinally on July 24, 2009, 06:15:36 PM
The fastening devises  ;D on my rear axle look like crap. I tried to have my local hardware store match up some SS ones, but no joy, so I started looking on boltdepot for some and soon realized I don't know Shinola about this aspect of ownership. It's a '00 M750 dark, w/ a steel swing arm and nuts that have a flat measurement of 22mm, the axle is 16mm and the thread pitch is 1.5...what would I look for as a replacement. As always thanks in advance.

I think you axle is actually 17mm.

I'd look for 17x1.5 mm stainless and don't worry about the hex measurement.

Leave the nuts and bolts alone and get spiffy shiny aluminum axle holders.

Damnit! This thread just cost me $130! I got billet axle holders and clutch/brake coffin covers from Corsair. I've been looking for the axle holders for my steel 17mm swingarm for a while. Thanks  [beer]
