Title: Pilot Power after track day..... Post by: Big T on July 26, 2009, 02:34:43 AM Hey inspecting my rear after the track day yesterday and found a couple of small "patches" of rubber that appears to have lifted as shown below.
New Pilot power with 200km on it to scrub it in before track day.... Any cause for concern?????? sorry never done a track day, never been to a track, bit hard when the nearest one is 2000k's away. [bang] Title: Re: Pilot Power after track day..... Post by: mattyvas on July 26, 2009, 03:06:04 AM Haven't seen a PP do that before, have seen plenty of rubber "balling" on the edge of the tread blocks.
Can you push your finger into the rubber, as in feel that it has lifted at all? Title: Re: Pilot Power after track day..... Post by: Big T on July 26, 2009, 03:10:16 AM All the rubber is solid in and around the patches.....
The tyre feels fine and rode fine..... ??? Title: Re: Pilot Power after track day..... Post by: mattyvas on July 26, 2009, 03:13:53 AM If it feels fine guess we can just help you monitor it Saturday.
Title: Re: Pilot Power after track day..... Post by: bazz20 on July 26, 2009, 01:32:23 PM no big t the tyre is fine those spots are caused by pinching , causes not enough pressure and not warm enough cheers bazz

[bang] I'm with CairnsDuc on this one. [thumbsup] With our Club system of 5 lap sprints (And racing in winter?? [roll]. Something visitors from O/S have questioned. ??? ) it isnt unusual to see this sort of thing, when the tyre is trying to maintain traction while getting the "berries" from the lunatic riding the bike when dead cold. ;D Cold track surface also contributes to the issue as well.
