Would an ECU from another S4RS be compatible with my S4RS? Do I have to worry about key codes not being read or any other issues?
Thanks,
Fredy
No, all stock ECUs have immobilizers that are mated to the bike's instrument clusters. You would need to send it out to have the immobilizer disabled, and then you could use it. If you did this, it would also be good to have the ECU reprogrammed into a DP unit.
Or you could get the guages from the bike the ECU came from and swap them as well, but the reprogram option would be the best way to get around it.
Thanks. That was the plan. Monstermash confirmed that reflashing ECU will like starting from scratch.

i thought it was mated to the red key. (i've never used mine to avoid problems since it would do nothing to stop a thief anyhow)

Yeah, if some one wants to steal they are going to regardless!
If it has not been mated to the red key, it can be used on another S4rs. So if a person buys a DP ECU and ever wants to sell it , do not mate to red key. I bought a DP ECU for a ST4s and didn't mate it. Sold it and pipes and it worked fine for the new owner--Jeff
Also bought the DP ecu for the S4rs and did not mate it---It works just fine....
