Title: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: WhiteStripe on July 27, 2009, 12:46:22 PM Just curious - mine are off and i can't beleve i didnt do this sooner. only concern is the protection the right side provides for my leg to the exhaust.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: DucMouse the Mighty on July 27, 2009, 12:51:58 PM nope, that was the sec thing i did when i got the bike....

And with No "Boobies" option on this Poll, This will make this Poll Invalid ;D Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: ProTeal55 on July 27, 2009, 01:13:09 PM Mine came off about two weeks after I brought the bike home..

Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: needtorque on July 27, 2009, 02:50:09 PM Yes, I still have them on. Wifey would kill me if I took them off as she would have nowhere to place her feet.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: WhiteStripe on July 27, 2009, 04:05:07 PM thanks. Just can't stomache the way they look with my new exhaust. off they stay.
+1 on the hookers though...that's why I have a station wagon. Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: Betty on July 27, 2009, 05:08:00 PM The Boss removed mine when the bike came home with a new exhaust - she said they just looked wrong.
Wifey would kill me if I took them off as she would have nowhere to place her feet. Wifey has very own Satos on which to place her feet ... so she can't complain [cheeky] [evil] Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: Novelo on July 27, 2009, 06:47:16 PM Ha third day my where off although I do put them on when I plan to carry

Wifey has very own Satos on which to place her feet ... so she can't complain [cheeky] [evil] the stockers look horrid, but after replacing my rear sets with rizoma (delicious i must say) and taking off the seat cowl, i could see putting some after market passenger pegs on. if you got pics to share, i'd love to see how it looks. Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: nikkimonster on July 27, 2009, 07:04:26 PM came off before first mile. i remove them on every bike i've ever owned.

Apologies for any confusion My Monster does not have passenger pegs, my wife removed them My wife has her own Monster (actually she introduced me) with no passenger pegs and Sato rearsets Therefore solution to passenger peg problem = SO with their own Monster Sometimes being a smart arse doesn't help ... sorry [roll] Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: teddy037.2 on July 28, 2009, 07:14:20 AM off.
I have no use for anyone else on that bike but me Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: duccarlos on July 28, 2009, 07:27:32 AM I'm considering putting them back on since my son has been asking me to take him out for a ride for a while.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: pennyrobber on July 28, 2009, 09:27:46 AM I had them off most of the time. I started getting tired of putting them back on to ride 2 up. I ended up getting them powdercoated black so they really aren't that noticeable anymore. I also look at them as a little extra protection for my exhaust in the event of a tip over.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: numbskull on July 28, 2009, 09:54:20 AM I don't feel comfortable putting a passenger's life at risk. Took them off a while ago and I like it that way.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: Rufus120 on July 28, 2009, 11:34:16 AM Got rid of those suckers a long time ago. When I have the time/$$$ I'm gonna cut off the mounting brackets as well. I hate looking at those things >:(

I've got a 2005 s2r and my girlfriend has been bugging me like hell to give her a ride, but I can't without the pegs. Someone help me get laid (more). Please?
Thanks, --Mike Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: Dannog on July 29, 2009, 03:18:26 AM Mine are on. My kids lov to ride on the back on their way to sports on Saturdays. I must say they've become good pillions. I don't think I'd ever want to pillion for an extended ride though!

Post by: duccarlos on August 01, 2009, 04:47:08 AM What would a reasonable person expect to pay for a set?
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: pennyrobber on August 01, 2009, 09:32:59 AM I would ask for $100 shipped. (that's what I offered my set for when I PM'd slipperymike)
Ebay stores usually want around $150 and I have seen them more or less in that range in classifieds on forums. Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: duccarlos on August 01, 2009, 06:58:43 PM So $100 including shipping or $100 plus shipping?
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: geoffduc on August 01, 2009, 10:21:17 PM I took them off the tricolore as soon as I got it, over here in the UK you have to have pegs on if theres a pillion seat but if the pillion has a cover then the pegs can be removed. The hyper still has the pegs on but they were powder coated black when I first got the bike (to help hide the bloody things,) wish that you could get a cover for the pillion on that bike.
Barb's says I'm enough of a hazard on my own without any body else on the pillion :'( Hi Carlos, do'es it fit o/k. ;) ;) [coffee] Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: duccarlos on August 02, 2009, 07:02:19 AM Excellent. Thanks Geoff!

Wifey has very own Satos on which to place her feet ... so she can't complain [cheeky] [evil] Well i got the wife a small starter bike but in 2 years it only got 150 miles put on it and 100 of those were mine. She was never comfortable operating it herself so not much I can do about it. (yes, she did take the MSF course) Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: pennyrobber on August 02, 2009, 01:26:46 PM So $100 including shipping or $100 plus shipping? Assuming you are in the continental US then that includes shipping. I will let you know though that the brakets and pegs are in near new condition as they were taken off the bike with very few miles on them. The heel guards are in great shape as well but are painted black. Not everones cup of tea but I suppose the paint could always be stripped off. Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: mookieo2 on August 03, 2009, 07:40:16 AM I removed one peg in a lowslide. If any wants to get rid of theirs let me know.
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: LA on August 05, 2009, 10:30:11 AM I usually keep mine off. It only takes like two min. per side to re-install them. If my daughter wants to go for a ride I put em back on.
LA Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: marvellous on August 06, 2009, 05:21:23 AM I took mine off when I changed the exhaust from the stock shotguns to the ExBox and haven't put them back on... Not sure how well it'd work anyway w/o the exhaust for stability... hmmm...
Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Post by: Spidey on August 06, 2009, 07:08:21 PM Duck Stew spent all this time on my bike making hidden passenger peg brackets, getting the Supersport rearsets to fit and then figuring out the perfect exhaust angle that wouldn't otherwise fry my passenger's legs. With all that time and energy, I think I've used the passenger pegs three times.
Sorry, Stew. :P Title: Re: Do you have your passenger pegs on? Not sure how well it'd work anyway w/o the exhaust for stability... hmmm... Marvel......pegs will work fine but they look funny because the right one is wider & shorter to clear the OEM cans......probalby feels funny to whoever is riding cupcake as well because their right leg is out further than their left one. |
